Mechanical Design Engineer - Tulsa, OK

Overview: Perform all levels of mechanical design including the development of construction documents. Responsibilities: Leadership and Direction • Receive general instruction on key objectives for execution. Receive direction as needed, and especially on difficult assignments and possible solutions. Work is completed using standard engineering techniques and design principles and is reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound professional judgement. At the Operational and Company Level • Assist with the marketing of the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships. Do the Work • Design appropriate mechanical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles. • Communicate effectively with engineers, project manager, and occasionally the client. • Conduct field observations visits to accurately document the existing field conditions. • Organize/prioritize multiple tasks to complete the design in a sequential efficient manner. • Accurately produce the project construction documents to meet milestone schedules within a predetermined hourly budget. • Assist in developing construction cost estimates for mechanical systems. • Attend coordination and design meetings, as needed. • Assist with project specifications and budget construction cost estimating. • Address comments from clients, AHJ's & other review authorities; adjust designs accordingly. • If directed, review all project related construction administrative items (shop drawings, RFI's, change order proposals). • Work within established project budgets. • Possess and continue to develop a working knowledge of all codes applicable to the discipline. • Possess and continue to develop a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline required at time of employment. • Entry level position, no prior experience required. Any professional experience is a plus. • Knowledgeable of AutoCAD, REVIT, CADWorx and/or Plant 3D modeling software. • EIT and LEED accreditation preferred. Physical Demands and Working Environment: • Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic. • Mobility around an office environment. • Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. • Occasionally outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards. • Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds. • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds. • Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder. #LI-FS1 About Bowman: Are you ready to build a career that makes a lasting impact? Estimated Appointment End Date (Continuous if Blank) Full/Part-Time Full time Job Type Regular Compensation Job Description Basic Purpose: This is a leadership level of this job family where the employee is assigned responsibilities at the Mechanical Contractor level involving the design and alteration of heating ventilation and air-conditioning systems (HVAC), as well as the supervision of others in the installation, maintenance and repair of such systems and related components. In this role the employee will be assigned overall responsibility for service and repair of mechanical systems across the state and the preventative maintenance program of such systems within the assigned area of responsibility. Compensation: $60000.00 Benefits: This is a full-time state position that provides a percentage of matching contributions to employees' retirement plans, 11 holidays, and a minimum of 15 days of annual and sick leave per year. The state also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents. Essential Functions: • Services and maintains HVAC systems that control temperature, humidity, air-flow and air-filtering in all types of commercial and light-commercial buildings. • Inspects HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. • Develops and maintains an effective and efficient preventative maintenance program. • Performs scheduled and routine preventive maintenance on HVAC systems for the purpose of ensuring life-cycle operation of these systems. • Repairs HVAC systems and components, i.e. boilers, pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc. • Installs HVAC equipment with enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities. • Responds to emergency situations during and/or after hours. • Maintains vehicle, tools and equipment in good condition. • Maintain the agency's control system and user interface. • Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, equipment and refrigerant logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information. • Orders and maintains equipment and supplies to ensure availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair. • Coordinate with supervisor and other tradesmen for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently. • Inform supervisor regarding status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making purchasing and scheduling decisions. Mechanical Engineering Associate I

Audubon is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Associate I to join our team in our Tulsa, OK Office. The Mechanical Engineering Associate I will perform basic and routine mechanical engineering assignments associated with designing equipment, components, structures or systems. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Gather and record information from vendor drawings, catalogs, and technical manuals to be utilized in the development of engineering specifications. • Under direct supervision, prepare basic specifications for project assignments detailing client performance requirements, specific component needs, design requirements, applicable design codes, and vendor drawing requirements. • Prepare basic sketches and perform basic engineering calculations for project assignments. • Review vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications. • Interact and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors and other consultants. • Track and maintain awareness of the schedule and budget for assigned project assignments. • Adhere to company quality standards and follow engineering checking and approval procedures. • Comply with all company and client health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) standards as well as federal and local HSSE regulations. • Actively participate in company and client hazard identification and observation programs, and immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or incidents to your supervisor.
