Kansas City Estimation Specialist

Estimator Role A renowned Kansas City based Civil Contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, preparing quantity takeoffs, and pricing all aspects of the project. Key Responsibilities: • Review project plans and specifications, prepare quantity takeoffs, and price all aspects of the project. • Manage and organize the overall bid and proposal process. • Read, quantify, and analyze construction documents in all trade disciplines, estimating overhead components. • Utilize various system unit pricing across multiple trade disciplines using current and historical market unit pricing. • Perform system trade off comparisons on a macro scale (structural systems, mechanical systems, foundations, etc). • Conduct conceptual estimates with limited design quickly, understanding the level of detail appropriate for each stakeholder. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. For more information visit www.eaglepicher.com ABOUT THE POSITION Perform maintenance duties including but not limited to installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and replacement of equipment and facilities. Skilled in key areas of HVAC, Electrical, Welding & Sheet metal, and plumbing of air and hydraulics. Skilled in basic carpentry such as doors, windows, sheetrock, etc. Regularly repair and maintain various production tools using lathes, CNC, bridge-ports, grinders, etc. Operate various heavy equipment appropriate for the job at hand. Perform other duties whenever conducive to efficient plant operations. Report to Mechanical Group Leader unless assigned otherwise by the Maintenance Supervisor in supporting maintenance needs for maintaining operational effectiveness. Responsibilities • Perform preventive maintenance on all types of equipment • Install, repair or replace equipment including pumps and plumbing • Install conduit boxes, doors, windows, sheetrock, etc. • Troubleshoot mechanical equipment • Perform other duties as required and whenever conducive to efficient plant operations • Work overtime when needed to support operations Qualifications • Experience and skill in performing various equipment related maintenance tasks: HVAC, welding and sheet metal fabrication, painting, electrical, plumbing, operation of heavy equipment, and carpentry. • Able to troubleshoot mechanical equipment. • Able to accurately use calipers, micrometers, levels, squares, tape measure, etc.. • Able to use hand and power tools. • Able to lift 50 lbs. or more at times. • Able to work with little or no supervision. • Must have a dependable, safe work history. • Must have valid driver's license. • Able to become fork truck and other heavy equipment certified. • Able to work in adverse weather conditions. • Able to work overtime as required. • Able to work from ladders. • Able to meet testing requirements. • Able to read manuals and engineering blue prints for tooling, equipment, and facilities. • Willing to pursue continuous learning for Journeyman to Masters levels in core areas of maintenance expertise: HVAC, Electrical, Welding, Plumbing, Sheet metal. • Must be U.S. Persons.
