Mechanical Systems Maintenance Technician

Job Overview As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment. You will be responsible for providing regular and preventative maintenance, working collaboratively with the maintenance and controls departments to optimize preventive maintenance efforts. Your duties will include troubleshooting and repairing equipment, performing required PM checks, and reporting any issues to supervision. You will also learn to confidently operate all production equipment in extrusion and other areas, and safely troubleshoot electrical controls circuits. POSITION DESCRIPTION Responsible for process adjustments, repairs and/or replacement of machine parts to allow for continuous and efficient operations in production. 3. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES ® Repairs all manufacturing equipment where the problem becomes obvious using basic trouble shooting skills.(e.g. Broken wires, cracked or broken lines) ® Helps identify root cause of equipment issues ® Promotes safety in the workplace by assuring all electrical and mechanical guards and other safety devices are working and in place ® Promotes quality manufacturing by ensuring all quality testing and inspections are completed ® Completes all assigned PM’s, projects, and work orders in a timely manner based on priority ® Actively participates in Hopkins Safety Programs, such as Safety and PIE Help Desks, Behavior Based Safety Audits, Safe Work Cards, and reports all near miss and first aid events ® Promotes and maintains 6S principles throughout the facility 4.
