Responsibilities Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities: • Perform day-to-day construction monitoring and detailed inspections for Mechanical (HVAC) verifying adherence to plans, specifications, standards, and codes. • Prepare and maintain comprehensive daily inspection reports, Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs), photographs, field books/diaries, sketches, and record drawings. • Review and process contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, change-order proposals, and contract-claim documentation; conduct change-order and delay-analysis using CPM methods. • Document and analyze time-and-material and unit-price work; review payment applications and provide recommendations for adjustments. • Enforce safety procedures (OSHA-30, fall protection, confined-space entry, work-zone requirements); issue noncompliance notices or suspend work for life-threatening safety violations after consultation with supervisors. Requirements Essential Skills and Experience: • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Accredited University. • 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, laboratories, healthcare, pharmaceutical facilities, and research and development (R&D). • Valid Class C (or equivalent) driver’s license. • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification. • Knowledge of construction inspection procedures, familiarity with laboratory, healthcare, and Pharmaceutical (research and development) projects • Ability to read, interpret, and enforce plans, specifications, design manuals, codes, and regulatory requirements. • Proficiency in contract administration: submittals, RFIs, change-orders, claims, and payment application review. • Skilled in preparing clear, concise written reports, sketches, and photographic records. • Good oral and written communication; ability to lead meetings and coordinate among diverse stakeholders. • Capacity to identify constructability issues, recommend corrective actions, and promote efficient project delivery. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Technology, or a related discipline. Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in jurisdictions where EIT is unavailable (must be completed within 18 months of hire, promotion, or transfer). • 5 years of relevant experience. • Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. • Domestic and/or international travel may be necessary, depending on specific responsibilities and project demands. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working on large, complex projects in a multi-disciplinary environment. • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers. • Prior experience utilizing Autodesk Revit for creating detailed mechanical drawings. • Knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and sustainable design practices. • Experience in high-performance building design targeting energy, water, and carbon reduction. Job Posting External Job Responsibilities: Provide engineering expertise to the design, development, and evaluation of gears, drive train systems, and related components for lift trucks. Responsibilities include new product development along with production support. This mid to advanced level position relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. • Development Planning - Propose drivetrain definitions or specifications to meet a given set of guidelines. Recommend plans for development, testing, and review. Organize project details and manage project deliverables: Task lists, schedules, assist quality plans, supplier evaluations, etc. • Development/Evolution and Evaluation - Introduce/evolve alternate drive train concepts to meet commercially compatible definitions or specifications. Collaborate when appropriate with in-plant manufacturing gear engineers. Document concepts to be presented for critical review and support of decision-making process. Properly document the design and adequately communicate this information to others for critical review and decision-making. • Other Tasks - Recommend, develop and implement design tools when necessary. Support other functional groups such as purchasing, manufacturing, service, quality, and product engineering when warranted. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience • 2 years of mechanical design experience related to gear and drivetrain (Salary will be commensurate with experience) • Computer aided design (CAD) and 3-D modeling skills • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) application skills • Good written communication, verbal communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills • Ability to travel occasionally with overnight stays (0-5%) • Reliable transportation to travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to understand and design based upon ISO, AGMA, ANSI, and DIN gear and spline standards • Familiar with software tools specific for gear design • Forging and casting design knowledge • Detailed tolerance stack-ups experience • NVH and gear noise evaluation experience • Experience specifying proper seals and fasteners • Knowledge of metallurgical properties, materials, and heat treat evaluations required for development • Familiarity with gear/gearbox manufacturing processes and assembly Work Authorization: Indefinite U.S. work authorized individuals only.
