Temporary Product Engineer Mechanical

About You We’re seeking a result-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as our Temporary Product Engineer Mechanical. Based out of our Torrington Connecticut location, you will lead mechanical product design within Dymax’s curing equipment range by balancing expertise in analytical engineering fundamentals with creativity, innovation, and proof-of-concept prototyping. Also, by project managing electromechanical product development from concept to commercial release Responsibilities: Develop curing equipment that drives strategic growth initiatives by designing innovative concepts that lead to commercialized new products or technology Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in stage-gate projects by authoring technical specifications, and by maintaining engineering data, documentation and collateral that achieves project deliverables and supports product Design History Files (DHF) Foreshorten development time and enhance product performance by delivering actionable results through the synthesis of data and engineering fundamentals Deliver on high-quality products to market goals by leading and enforcing robust DFMEA reviews, anticipating product risk, and eliminating customer field issues Utilize established engineering principles for design verification by performing simulations, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing analysis, thermal transfer analysis, and reviewing mechanical and optoelectronic parameters Foster an environment that openly shares work ideas and routinely seeks feedback by serving as an internal customer advocate, proactively collecting feedback from project stakeholders, and coordinating design reviews Maintain product competitive advantage by researching up-and-coming technologies, and conducting benchmarking of other UV curing equipment systems and subsystems in the industry. Requirements BS Mechanical Engineering – advanced degree preferred Thorough knowledge of 3D CAD and PDM/PLM systems such SolidWorks Mechanical and SolidWorks EPDM Vault Working in office and engineering laboratory environments 7+ years of experience in mechanical product development Electromechanical or optomechanical experience or knowledge of UV- and LED-curing equipment advantageous Have a thirst for knowledge, ideate quickly, and thrive in team-based development cycles. Experience authoring technical specification, following stage-gate methodologies, utilizing APQP tactics, and leading DFMEA reviews preferred Expertise in manufacturing processes such as sheet-metal fabrication, stampings, machined components, cabling and wire harness construction, and printed circuits boards fabrication. About You We’re seeking a result-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as a Senior Project Engineer for our Torrington, CT facility. Here, you will developcost-effective, timely, high-impact capital improvement projects that meet business growth, operational stability, EHS, and production quality needs by providing expert judgment, analysis, and direction to a project team and by identifying and executing capital projects that address operational deficiencies, meet business opportunity needs, and progress in improving manufacturing facilities, technology, and quality.
