Electro-Mechanical Field Service Technologist

A day in this role Morning might find you on the floor in Battleboro, VT, assembling and validating subassemblies against engineering procedures, CAD models, and electrical schematics. By midday you could be drafting purchase requisitions from system build packages and aligning with team guidance on what’s most urgent. Later, you’re in the field, setting up, operating, and maintaining integrated systems—sometimes supporting planned outages or urgent calls. Along the way, you’ll mentor Level I and peer technicians, sharing best practices and safety-first habits. What you’ll do Rebuild and service outage-support systems, from teardown through recommissioning. Install, configure, operate, and maintain integrated electro-mechanical systems at customer and onsite locations. Travel 30–50% annually to support outage timelines and emergent work. Create purchase requisitions from system packages; coordinate daily priorities with team direction. Fabricate, test, and conduct peer checks on subcomponents and integrated assemblies per procedures, CAD, and schematics. Coach Level I and peer technicians on task execution and quality standards. Fluency reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Understanding of how subassemblies interface within larger integrated systems. Proficient soldering skills (e.g., J-STD-001). Comfort using DMMs, hi-pot testers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and calipers. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be ($46,214.79 to $58,178.83)
