The Successful Applicant A Successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred. • Strong understanding of RF and microwave principles, materials, and connector design. • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools for mechanical and thermal analysis. • Experience with precision machining, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes relevant to RF components. • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD, IPC). • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple complex design projects. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams. As a facilities mechanical engineer, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our client’s semiconductor-based manufacturing. You and other team members will work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role you will collaborate with on-site personnel to support projects of varying size and complexity including assessment of systems, consulting system owners and analyzing scope requests from stakeholders. As a Mechanical Engineering Professional, you will be responsible for interacting with the client, contractors, and site personnel in Wilton, Connecticut. Your job includes designing, developing, evaluating, and preparing recommendations with basis of design (BOD), scope of work (SOW) documents, in addition to design, construction and specifications documents through the positional (programming) process with a team. You will also oversee engineering and construction for the facility mechanical systems work including HVAC, process cooling water, wastewater, general and acid/ammonia exhaust, fire protection, plumbing, process-piping and equipment. The work will include retrofits of existing building systems, as well as new systems. Here's what you'll need • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university • At least 10 years of practical application of mechanical facilities design engineering, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related mechanical facilities systems • At least 5 years of design project delivery processes experience • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience • Solid knowledge and application of the mechanical requirements per ASME and ASME B31.3, building codes, fire codes, and other related standards, such as ASHRAE • Solid knowledge in practice and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of mechanical equipment and components • Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications • Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel Ideally, you’ll also have • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure • 5 years of experience as a facility engineer • Working knowledge of design-related deliverables, such as P&IDs, PFDs, Details, and Equipment Plans, etc. • Proficient working knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit or BIM360 • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams • Passionate about buildings and construction Other Requirements Location • This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Wilton, CT. RELOCATION AVAILABLE. SIGN-ON BONUS!!! • Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours – nominally 800 am to 500 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference. Physical Requirements • Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. As an Electromechanical Technician, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting production operations.
