About the Position • Design lumber manufacturing equipment for both new installations and rebuilds • Manage multiple projects at many different stages, big and small • Develop and improve lumber processing equipment designs • Effectively utilize 3D modeling software to create designs and drawings • Provide direction to assemblers and machinists • Deliver completed projects that consider the complete application and needs of operations • Through research and coordination, establish design concepts relative to the development of new equipment • Actively plan and oversee equipment installation, upgrades, and start-ups • Contribute creative solutions in an innovative team environment • Continuously learn and improve knowledge of the industry and equipment Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent experience • 2+ years’ experience in the lumber industry and/or machine design • Experience with SolidWorks or 3D modeling software • Working knowledge of hydraulics, drives, welding, and machining preferred • Machine center alignment and installation experience is helpful • Possess strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and organizational skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Why Join Our Team?
