Sr. Mechanical Engineer

As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will contribute to the definition and development of spacecraft thermal control systems. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating personal leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. We are looking for an engineer to be responsible for the development and integration of thermal components across the Blue Moon Crew Lander as a part of the SLD Crew Lander Thermal Systems Engineering Vehicle Team. In this role, you will drive component and system requirement development and determine performance requirements, interfaces, and allocated resources (mass, power, etc.) for critical thermal components on the Blue Moon Crew Lander. You will be responsible for ensuring the design, delivery, and integration of spacecraft thermal components. You will also be responsible for all technical, programmatic, and cost aspects of the assigned thermal component to ensure the component is delivered fully qualified before delivering it to vehicle assembly for integration and system-level testing. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering • 10+ years of spacecraft thermal engineering experience • First principles understanding of heat transfer and thermodynamics; ability to perform simple hand calcs • Strong grasp of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and mechanical design • Experience and ability to work independently on rapid development programs • Demonstrated experience in designing, sizing, building, testing, verifying, and validating aerospace hardware is required Preferred Skills And Experience • 15+ years of relevant experience with spacecraft thermal systems or spacecraft component design • Master’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering discipline • Demonstrated ability to own hardware or systems within an integrated engineering team in a professional setting. Specifically, spacecraft active thermal control hardware, systems, or deployable mechanical systems. • Demonstrated understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex mechanical and/or electromechanical systems • Demonstrated ability to own and deliver hardware or systems within an integrated engineering team in the aerospace industry • Vendor technical management and product delivery experience • Professional experience applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5 • Able to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment, including frequent interactions with other engineers, managers, and program leadership • Highly self-motivated with strong organizational and written/oral communication skills – able to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment Compensation Range For CA applicants is $140,959.00-$197,342.25;CO applicants is $129,611.00-$181,454.70;WA applicants is $140,959.00-$197,342.25 Other Site Ranges May Differ Culture Statement Don’t meet all desired requirements? Mechanical Engineer / Structural Engineer

Job Title ndash; Structural Engineer Duration ndash; 12 Months (Possibility of Extension/ Conversion) Location ndash; Remote nbsp; • The Consultant shall provide professional structural engineering services to support clientrsquo;s data center projects throughout the Southeast United States. • The Consultant must be a registered Structural Professional Engineer with demonstrated experience in tilting up concrete and precast structures within the light industrial sector. • The primary responsibility will be to provide technical oversight of third-party structural engineering vendors during the design and development of data center facilities, ensuring compliance with local building codes, standards, and AWS Basis of Design requirements. • The Consultant will actively participate in the design development process by conducting weekly coordination meetings with vendors, performing design reviews at 30, 60, 90, and 100 percent completion milestones, and providing over the shoulder guidance throughout the design phase. • Additional responsibilities include supporting the resolution of permitting comments, reviewing and approving Issue for Construction drawing sets, and maintaining oversight during the construction phase. • Construction phase services include resolving structural related issues identified in the field, responding to Requests for Information, and reviewing structural submittals in a timely manner to maintain project schedules. • The Consultant will serve as a subject matter expert in the continuous development and improvement of the AWS Structural Basis of Design. • This includes reviewing and updating template drawings and specifications, identifying opportunities for innovation and value engineering of structural elements, and providing technical recommendations to enhance the BOD. • The Consultant shall maintain thorough documentation of all design decisions, modifications, and improvements to support the ongoing evolution of AWS data center structural standards. nbsp; Basic qualifications • US Citizenship Required • ABET accredited bachelorrsquo;s degree in civil or structural engineering • 7 plus yearsrsquo; experience in structural design for industrial or commercial projects • 5 plus year of experience with design of large-scale buildings such as Data Centers, Mission Critical Facilities, Hospital, Schools, or highly complex Commercial Tower facilities. nbsp; Preferred qualifications • Masterrsquo;s degree in civil or Structural Engineering. SE Engineering license. • Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of DCs.
