We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer in our Rogers, AR office. As a Senior Mechanical Designer you will lead projects as a project manager or lead designer for the delivery of large and highly complex projects with minimal support required from senior staff. They will work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include project management, engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry. Additional responsibilities will include working within the project’s monetary budget, leading training and mentoring efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and Some key duties and responsibilities include: • Lead design efforts for the analysis of refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing and/or fire protection systems. Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards; • Performs site assessments and generates detailed analysis and technical reports; • Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication; • Provide in-process design reviews of refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing and/or fire protection system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence. Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements; • Provide technical training and mentoring. Provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with minimal support from senior staff; • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering. Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG; • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with mechanical systems; • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals; • Participate in project interviews and project presentations. Key skills and abilities needed for the position are: • Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications; • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems; • Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills; • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise; • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships; • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills; • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges; • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook; • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups; • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays.
