We are currently searching for Mechanical Engineers Custom Powder Systems, LLC is currently searching for a Mechanical Design Engineers able to interpret work orders and other applicable documents to create designs and effectively communicate with other departments, engineering firms and vendors regarding requirements to meet project requirements. Our Engineers are able to detail and prepare drawings, bill of materials and manuals. We work as a team and always look for improvements in machine design, safety design and conceptual ideas. MECHANICAL DESIGNER

DESCRIPTION The Mechanical Designer is responsible for designing Automation and Robotics projects from concept through completion utilizing SolidWorks for 3D designing of weldments, equipment, layouts, etc. Mechanical Designer will work alongside multidisciplinary project teams to develop, define, and execute automation projects to solve complex problems and assist stakeholders in meeting demands of an ever-changing manufacturing environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Maintain accountability for safety, functionality, timelines, and cost while fulfilling contracted scope of work. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of Designers, Programmers, Project Managers and Fabricators. • Participate with team & customers to determine project scope and timelines. Provide regular task updates. • Research and specify equipment and components while ensuring compatibility with overall system. • Develop 2D/3D layouts & equipment designs with consideration for facility layout, access, ergonomics, etc. • Detail designs to provide manufacturing prints, cut files, & BOMs while following company mechanical standards. • Incorporate understanding of metal fabrication and machine shop processes into designs. • Utilize SolidWorks for 3D designing of weldments, equipment, layouts, etc. • Utilize AutoCAD and/or DraftSight to generate 2D system layouts within building infrastructure. • Collaborate with design team on the development of products to ensure structural integrity is maintained. • Communicate effectively and considerately with other employees, vendors and/or customers of varying educational and cultural backgrounds. • Facilitate internal and external design reviews and incorporate input from project team and customers. • Work through the revision/approval process and properly document revisions. • Prepare and review quotes, change orders, specification sheets, estimates of design hours, etc. • Create and store project documents on the vault/server using current filing methodology and mechanical standards. • Responsible for meeting design schedule milestones. • Ability to complete daily tasks with limited supervision and minimal errors requiring re-work. • Must be able to complete job duties proficiently while adapting to changing demands and priorities. • Recommend design modifications for equipment malfunctions. • Take field measurements of existing equipment, utilities, or facilities for design purposes. • Perform quality checks and support installation, setup, and integration of systems and equipment as required. • Travel to customer & vendor facilities as required. • Generally average less than 10% travel requiring overnight stays. • Maintain valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company policy. • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS • The work environment consists of the typical indoor office environments, and the possibility of outdoor construction sites, exposing the employee to extreme temperatures, humidity, wind, rain, ice, and snow. • Must wear the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for this position and different jobsite environments. • Work performed in office environment. Involves frequent contact with other employees.
