Mechanical Integrity Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day As a Mechanical Integrity Engineer at Siemens Energy, your day will be filled with varying technical challenges supporting the design and delivery of high performance turbo-compressors. You'll evaluate the structural integrity and mechanical behavior of compressor or package components under various loads, figuring out the best analytical approaches while exchanging insights within multifunctional project teams, and providing recommendations for component design where relevant. You'll have the opportunity to improve analytical methods and tools to support customers or lead projects. How You’ll Make An Impact • Work on structural integrity topics in static and dynamic analysis of highly loaded compressor components for both traditional and green energy industries. • Support new unit and service projects by evaluating the structural suitability of components and assemblies, ensuring they meet industry specifications and regulatory requirements. • Apply finite element methods to simulate stress and displacement on structures from static or transient loads. Perform modal analysis to identify structural frequencies via harmonic response analysis. • Support field issues, participate in design improvement initiatives, and cost reduction efforts. What You Bring • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field and 2-5 years of mechanical analysis experience is required; a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field and 2-5 years of mechanical analysis experience is preferred. • Proficiency in structural simulation using ANSYS (Mechanical APDL/Workbench) is required with capability to integrate ANSYS with MATLAB, and Excel, and Python being preferred; experience with Siemens NX for CAD is preferred. • Experience in structural (2D, 3D, non-linear), dynamic, fatigue, and thermal analysis, including hand calculations for simple problems is preferred. • Strong understanding of materials strength, heat transfer, vibration, and fatigue phenomena is preferred. • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a meticulous approach to advanced analysis and complex problem-solving. • Experience in field failure investigation, turbo-machinery, and knowledge of API, ASME, or DIN EN codes related to centrifugal compressors, and/ or experimental modal analysis experience is preferred. Product Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day The Product Engineer implements Siemens-Energy technology to upgrade oOEM turbo-compressors, meeting client requirements for capacity, efficiency, and reliability. The selected candidate collaborates with global experts for end-to-end solution development. Work with a project team environment to develop solutions from initial concept engineering through to installation and commissioning. Collaboration with SE’s technology experts, factories, service centers and field service personnel worldwide. Our fleet includes compressors from different brands, designs, and ages. Collaborate with field experts, learn from their 30+ years of experience, make improvements using new technologies like AI and next-gen laser scanners. How You’ll Make an Impact: • Coordinate project progress, develop project designs, make technical decisions, communicate with project managers and other stakeholders. • Provide support for pre-sale activities by reviewing proposed solutions for efficiency, logistics, and risk mitigation to improve selling efforts. • Develop designs by applying engineering standards, using software tools, hold design reviews and consulting experts when needed. • Apply engineering knowledge in thermodynamics, aero design, structural analysis, rotor dynamics, and machine design. • Conduct Field Work in a dynamic environment in early project and commissioning phases. What You Bring: • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering, or a related field (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Chemical or Equivalent experience). • Possess 8+ years of extensive experience in analytical engineering (aerodynamic and mechanical), machinery design, impeller fabrication, rotor construction, seals, bearings, couplings, assembly, testing, servicing, and repair of API-617 core compressors. Demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of systems that support compressor operations, including dry and oil film seals, lubrication oil, suction throttle, recycle-loop, and surge control. • Proficient in reverse engineering with dimensional inspection techniques, including the use of micrometers and laser scanners, for OEM parts and assemblies. • Leadership proficiencies encompass persistent problem-solving, strategic vision, analytical and sequential thinking, efficient performance under pressure, and a personable demeanor. • Excel skills at Intermediate to Advanced level; LM, Python, Fortran, Power BI, Power Automate, SQL is strongly preferred. • Travel domestically and internationally, up to 25% annually; Must have current US passport (or ability to obtain) and valid driver's license. Contract position for Mechanical System Engineer Location: Olean, NY

Position: Mechanical System Engineer Location: Olean, NY Duration: 6+ Months Job Requirements Need rotating equipment compressor experience Job Requirements • Manage mechanical and systems technical scope for supply of new packaged rotating equipment for onshore and offshore projects including, gas turbine-compressors, electric motor-driven compressor trains, and extended plant scope (coolers, scrubbers, etc.) • Support Project Engineer to address technical concerns with internal and external clients • Ensure that the highest engineering standards are maintained within the mechanical engineering department during the design and manufacture of these products • Troubleshoot and understand compressor and process system designs from a mechanical standpoint. Integrate those systems with electrical and controls systems. This includes lube oil, fuel gas, and seal gas systems • Development of contract P&IDs and Instrumentation wiring diagrams in COMOS • Support production in the assembly of equipment through work instructions and redlining drawings • Perform technical calculations for a project. For example: component sizing, and fluid flow calculations / analysis • Provide technical/field service support through the end of warranty and handover to service. • Manage Mechanical Engineering schedule, including on time release of equipment specifications, bills of material, and customer documentation • Manage and monitor allocated Engineering budget • Interface with customers in a professional fashion. Represent customer as a technical subject matter expert. • Report to the Systems Engineering Manager Work Experience • Minimum B.E. in an engineering related field • Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. M.S. degree is a plus. • Minimum 3 years of Mechanical Engineering industry experience. • Rotating Equipment experience • Ability to read and convert client specifications into manufacturing / purchase spec. • Good verbal and written communication skills • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time • Experience with Engineering/PLM software Teamcenter, NX, E3, COMOS, and/or Jira • Knowledge of API614, and API692 & API617 is a plus • Experience with SAP • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel)
