Laborer

Penn Mechanical Group, Inc. – a leading earthwork and site development contractor – seeks to fill the position of ‘Laborer – E&S’ for their continually expanding Civil, Energy, and Environmental Construction Division. This position will be responsible for executing work contracts relating to Compost Filter Sock Installation, Seeding, and Erosion Abatement. The E&S Laborer position will be responsible for skilled labor tasks related to compost filter sock installation, seeding, and erosion abatement. Responsibilities: • Work with crew to install environmental BMP’s, including but not limited to Compost Filter Sock, Silt Fences, Conventional Seeding, Hydroseeding, and general maintenance. • Occasionally operate skidloader, small excavators, and crawler carriers. • Routinely work with hand tools, sledge hammers, and power tools. • Occasionally work with pipe crews to fuse pipe and install facilities. • Adhere to all HSE, Company, and Customer Policies. • Work well with others, possess a positive attitude, and be coachable. Skills and Abilities Required: • Must be willing to work outdoors and occasionally in adverse weather conditions. • Must be willing to work weekends when required. • Must be willing to work out of town in Western PA, Eastern OH, and Northern WV, when required. • Must be willing to travel regionally, when required. • Must be willing to work overtime. • Must be willing to wear required Personal Protective Equipment. • Must be willing to participate in safety training and meetings. • Must be willing to work as part of a team. • Possess ability to lift objects up to 80 lbs. • Possess ability to carry objects up to 80 lbs. • Possess ability to stand for extended periods of time. • Possess ability to walk and traverse uneven terrain in outdoor environment. • Possess ability to safely mount and dismount heavy equipment. • Possess adequate close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception. • Possess ability to interpret operator's manuals. • Possess ability to read & write. • Position requires 100% field time in outdoor environment. Heavy Equipment Operator

Description Operate heavy equipment including dozer, excavator, off-road haul truck, compaction equipment, skid-steer loader, backhoe, and/or wheel loader on projects relating to bulk earthwork, site development, utilities, drainage, remediation, facilities, and concrete structures. Duties and Responsibilities • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with industry, company, and customer standards and policies. • Maintain professionalism in verbal communications. • Possess a positive attitude and be a team player. • Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections on equipment and maintain cleanliness of equipment. • Notify supervisor of equipment issues and repair needs. • Assist with routine maintenance. • Practice good housekeeping. • Candidates must possess an elevated level of pride, consistently performing quality work while managing the condition and performance of their machine(s) appropriately. Required Qualifications • 1+ Years of verifiable, heavy equipment operating experience. • Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass Background Check. • Ability to pass drug test and DOT physical evaluation. • Strong communication skills. • Positive attitude. • Experience with GPS Machine Control / Survey is preferred.
