Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

At TWD Technologies, we are seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our Pittsburgh, PA team. Job Summary The Intermediate Mechanical Engineer is responsible for planning, organizing and execution of various aspects of mechanical engineering, piping engineering and design support. This will include participating as a member of dynamic project teams with a wide range of types of tasks. The position will provide the opportunity to work in the Glass / Heavy Industrial industry. Job Duties • Perform all or some of the following: organize/plan jobs, write/review specifications, write technical bid evaluations, prepare/maintain schedules, develop/monitor estimates and manpower forecasts, work with project/client/field, material procurement, permit, and subcontract activities. • Utilize vendor data and work with personnel from other disciplines as required for the performance of designs. Utilize/perform squad checks of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines. • Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices, etc. • Preparation of Scope of Work and construction work packages (CWP’s). • Preparation of Scope of Work and Contractor Bid documentation packages. • Assisting in the ongoing development of TWD internal systems to improve our quality and efficiency of delivering effective projects to clients. • General support to the Mechanical Engineering discipline. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution. • Site experience within the Glass industry or Heavy Industrial. • 4-9 years experience as an Mechanical Engineer. • Experience with Solidworks & AutoCad. • Equipment Design, conveyors experience. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Project). • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, and experience in a client facing role is strongly preferred. • If you would like to apply for this position, respond directly to this ad for consideration. ENGINEER Engineer: Energy / Electrical / Mechanical Focuses Job Location: Meadville, PA office; Charlotte, NC office Job Duties: • Design and development of thermal and power/renewable energy projects at industrial, commercial, institutional and government facilities • Conduct energy audits of industrial processes and commercial operations at existing facilities and evaluate and recommend energy efficiency improvements • Development of engineering cost estimates and life-cycle cost analyses for CHP and district heating projects • Carbon accounting, feasibility studies, project design, permitting, bid document development or review, and construction oversight • Controls programming, data displays, presentations • Writing of reports summarizing designs and analyses, writing of grant applications for clients • Development of presentations for project managers and clients Requirements: • 1-5 years experience is envisioned, but other levels of experience will be considered • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or Agricultural Engineering from ABET accredited school • EIT certification or PE is a plus, but not required • A high level of proficiency with drafting software is required • Must be willing to perform a wide array of project development tasks and activities including: • Writing of reports and memos • System design • Development of project schedules • Development of drawings and specifications • Cost estimation Wilson Engineering Services, PC is an equal opportunity employer.
