Manufacturing Engineer

• Follows all ISO 9001/ ISO 13485 Work Instructions and procedures in the performance of these duties. • Refines process flow and controls to manufacture within product specifications. • Ensure ERP system remains accurate and up to date with latest process/part information (Process Routing, Rates, BOM, Part Attributes, Cost Formulation, etc.) • Performs equipment specification, review, installation, and setup. • Provides manufacturing project estimates on cost and timing. • Perform product improvement through process or design improvements with customers. • Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize process flow. • Basic design/commission and debug process equipment. • Creates processing/equipment instruction documents. • Participates in new product design review with sustainable manufacturing processes in mind. • Plans, directs, and coordinates plant manufacturing projects. • Champions manufacturing project update meetings with required plant personnel and customers. • Coordinates with outside vendors and contractors as required. • Prepare proposals for equipment considerations for management decision. • Applies knowledge of quality requirements to equipment specifications, poka-yokes, etc. • Has the ability to create required CAD/drawings to build necessary fixtures and work holding. • Continually analyze process flows for improvements of quality, cost reductions, and throughput. • Works with manufacturing to implement effective training on necessary improvements and equipment installation. • Provides daily support for production operations • Perform tasks as Corrective Action Champion when necessary. • Participates in layered audits as required. SKILLS REQUIRED: • Proficiency in MS Office applications • Proficiency in Plex • Proficiency in Minitab o Average, Standard Deviation, Process Capability, DOE, Correlation, Regression, etc. • Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD Modeling (SolidWorks preferred) • Proper Dimensioning, Print Reading with GD&T application. • Practical problem- solving techniques (Six Sigma, 8D, 4M, 5Why, Know/Don’t Know, Kata, DOE) • Hands-on Process Knowledge (Process Specific): o Machining: Setup and Adjust Mill/Lathe/etc, Create G-Code/M-Code Programming, Tool and Work-holding Selection, Proper PM/Pd maint. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls. Duties and Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician: • Working under the guidance of a Maintenance Specialist, the Maintenance Technician will learn to: • Perform preventative maintenance of CNC machines and/or facilities equipment • Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines and/or facilities equipment; rebuild components as needed • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on machinery, equipment, and the physical structure of the facilities • Install and relocate equipment • Ensure all routine and scheduled maintenance on equipment is completed on time and documented • Fabricate needed parts for repairs • Paint equipment and/or facilities when necessary • Assist in building new facilities • Inspect all work when completed • Adjust work schedule as needed for maintenance or repairs • Perform all job functions within the guidelines of both company and OSHA regulations and policies Qualifications for the Maintenance Technician: Knowledge and Skills • Mechanical and technical abilities • Familiarity with basic maintenance procedures and equipment (electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics) • Knowledge of methods, tools, practices and safety measures related to mechanical trades • Ability to read blueprints and precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers • Able to work independently and with teams • Able to quickly learn required computer software • Able to be on feet for extent of shift, if needed • May require comfort and focus on working safely around chemicals • Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, able to effectively manage multiple tasks. • Strong ability to professionally communicate using both verbal and written skills. • Capable of completing selected training seminars as they surface and applicable training on: • Lock Out/Tag Out • Electrical Arc Flash • Fork truck and man-lift • Fall protection Valid driver’s license Education /Experience: • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent • Desired: Technical training in skills required to perform maintenance duties • Desired: Proper licensing and certifications as necessary.
