Maintenance Engineer

Ellwood Crankshaft Group is the world's leading manufacturer of large, one-of-a-kind, multiple-throw crankshafts. ECG's products and services include crankshafts and eccentrics used in mechanical stamping presses, reciprocating air and gas compressors, reciprocating pumps, engines, mechanical shears, rock crushers, homogenizers and other miscellaneous applications. ECG services the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas and compression markets. ECM is currently hiring for the Maintenance Engineer position. Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine (ECM) has an opening for a fulltime Maintenance Engineer in Hermitage, PA. This salariedexempt position will report to the Maintenance Director. While based in Hermitage, PA, this position will be expected to go to our other ECG facilities as needed. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Maintain a safe work environment by assuring plant organization, housekeeping, safe work practices, and by eliminating safety hazards and at-risk behaviors • Develop, justify, and manage shutdown and major repair projects. Develop plans, schedules, budgets, and implement projects utilizing both in-house and/or contracted labor. • Assist the engineering department by supporting new equipment installations including justification, budgeting, planning and procuring key spares, installation, and start • Troubleshooting of all types of mechanical systems and components • Technical resource for the maintenance group for emergency breakdowns involving mechanical systems • Assist in procurement of emergency repair parts, and key spares • Work with ECM departmental managers to maximize production of critical equipment by improving mechanical reliability • Ensure availability and organized filing of maintenance related documents, such as manuals, drawings, etc. • Perform all other necessary duties, responsibilities, and projects, as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • Four-year Engineering degree preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering • Minimum two (2) years working within a maintenance department preferred. • Solid knowledge and experience with hydraulic systems • Knowledgeable about the maintenance function; CMMS, and PdM tools and procedures • Knowledgeable of AutoCAD and Solid Works • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problemsolving abilities • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs • Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance multiple projects while performing daily duties • Must be results oriented with a strong desire to succeed. Internally driven • Solid verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work well with a team while also working independently • Willing to work schedules as deemed necessary based on business needs PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Working knowledge of CMMS Systems • Experience in reading blueprints • Experience with machining • Experience with machine tool installations and upgrades • Experience with electrical systems • Experience with CNC programming • Proficient with Microsoft Project

Mechanical Assembler

A Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and systems, ensuring that they meet specified tolerances and operational requirements. This position involves the precise interpretation and application of technical drawings, including blueprints, schematics, and mechanical diagrams. The role requires a solid understanding of mechanical fit types—such as bearing fits, interference fits, and slip fits—and how they apply to assembly and mechanical function. The Mechanical Assembler will use a variety of hand and power tools to construct, assemble, and test mechanical systems and subassemblies, ensuring they meet required specifications and tolerances. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS · Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemble according to detailed specifications and instructions. · Align, fit, and join parts using fixtures, tools, and power tools. · Perform soldering, welding, and other fabrication tasks as needed. · Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to understand the assembly process. · Must be able to use and read tape measure, calipers and micrometers, and use of laser alignment tools. · Must be knowledgeable in proper way to install and remove bearing seals. · Ensure that all assembled components adhere to the design specifications. · Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, proper alignment, and functional operation. · Conduct functional tests on completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards. · Identify and correct assembly errors or malfunctions. · Work with engineering and production team to resolve any issues. · Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, modifications, and repairs. · Complete work orders and production reports as required. · Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. · Perform routine maintenance on assembly tools and equipment. COMPETENCIES · Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. · Knowledge on operating hand and power tools. · Strong attention to detail and precision in work. · Strong knowledge of power tools and tool knowledge. · Understanding of welding processes. · Knowledge of blueprint reading a must. · Read orders to ascertain catalog numbers, sizes and quantities of material. · Must follow all safety procedures and regulations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS · While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. WORK ENVIRONMENT · While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK · This is a full-time position. Regular hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additional hours may be required as needed. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED): or one year related experience and/or training: Crane experience is preferred. Electronic/Mechanical Technician-Midnight Shift

SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing maximum maintenance for the facility with a minimum of downtime due to maintenance problems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is not all inclusive and may include other duties as necessary. · Plans, lays-out, constructs, modifies, repairs and/or installs new or existing electric and electronic equipment at an advance level. May include PLC’s, PC’s, and Data Collector’s Sensor’s or other electronic equipment. · Designs and modifies program coding for the PLC’s data collectors, PC’’s or other electronic equipment in order to control, track or identify discrepancies with production or industrial data transmission. · Configures, installs and supports cabling and communications linkages between electronic equipment and systems. Troubleshoots faulty operations, diagnoses problems, recommends corrective action and expedites repair of systems. · Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principles, wiring specifications, codes, properties or various materials and principles of operations and application of acceptable electronic and mechanic procedures. · Plans and performs mechanical work as needed. · Trains new personnel. Practices and teaches effective safety procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Applicant must have four (4) plus years of maintenance experience. One (1) year electronic maintenance experience. Mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment, a strong electrical and mechanical background. Ability to analyze all types of circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings as required to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, modify, replace or service all types of mechanical and electronic devices and systems, including gauges, controls and regulators, power and distribti8ion control equipment, measuring, recording, processing and indicating devices, etc… PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
