Job Summary Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted operation of machinery and equipment for aluminum castings production. Responsibilities • Perform preventative and repair maintenance on industrial machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe and electrical systems, loaders and cranes. • Dismantle, install, inspect and test machinery and equipment. • Set up and operate machine tools such as grinder and drill. • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other machinery or rolling stock parts. • Lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. • Install and maintain electrical apparatus and components, qualified to do so by prior training or experience. • Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment and functionality. • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut and join metal parts. • Detect machine or equipment malfunction and diagnose to determine cause and minimize production interruptions. • Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including motors, controls and PLC's. • Calibrate machines to meet production specifications and quality standards. Organizational • Maintain accurate digital records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history. • Maintain machinery and equipment inventories. • Maintain personal and Company tool inventories. • Maintain work area in a safe, neat and orderly condition. • Utilize spare parts inventory system. • Work with management to come up with ideas to improve processes. • Understand and apply company policies and procedures. • Participate in meetings effectively. • Utilize support systems associated with maintenance. • Using the CMMS, identify and suggest corrective actions for patterned failures. • Aid the maintenance department in reaching an RCM and WCM future state. • Other duties as assigned.
