Mechanical DesignerWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team. This role involves designing heating, ventilation, and cooling systems, as well as plumbing systems, for a range of projects. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective design of various mechanical systems, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring compliance with construction documents.Responsibilities:Design heating-ventilation-cooling systems and plumbing systems.Perform load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling.Design refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial buildings.Coordinate with other disciplines and work collaboratively in a team environment.Review installation of designed equipment/systems for compliance with construction documents.Manage multiple projects within established schedules.Work on a variety of project types, scales, and complexities.Prepare construction cost estimates, both broad and detailed.Assist in developing contract specifications and researching new procedures/products.Perform all work safely and responsibly, following the Health and Safety Plan.Act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills:Proficiency in Revit, mechanical design, MEP design, HVAC design, and refrigeration.Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) Certification.Minimum of 2 years of mechanical design experience, including refrigeration design.Strong teamwork, communication, and client relationship skills.Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.Strong work ethic and solid organizational skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Ability to work effectively on a wide variety of project types and scales.Experience in preparing construction cost estimates.Research skills for new procedures and products.Work Environment:The company offers a family-oriented environment with a small team of 10 employees. Position Summary: The Team Lead is responsible for overall team operations and supervision of their team members. This includes directing and/or leading design professionals within their discipline and working with other design disciplines internal and external to PEC to develop engineering solutions for PEC’s Clients. The Team Lead, along with input from the Vice President or Practice Lead, has primary responsibilities for their Team’s operations including workload planning, risk and financial management, and customer service.
