We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to develop, implement and manage mechanical integrity programs for refinery fixed equipment. Plant Engineer will also provide technical support for projects, maintenance, turnarounds, and special assignments to ensure safety, reliability, and integrity of fixed equipment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work in both a team environment and on self-directed tasks are necessary Responsibilities • Develop and implement fixed equipment strategies including recommendations that will improve refinery operations. • Maintain site Mechanical Integrity program using Plant Condition Management Software (PCMS) and Risk Based Inspection (RBI) analysis to identify applicable damage mechanisms and related inspection plans. • Work with process, maintenance, and operations groups to conduct effective inspection and maintenance programs to maintain equipment operability. • Ensure proper inspections, reviews and fitness for service assessments are completed and documented to meet environmental, safety and regulatory requirements. • Makes recommendations for operation, repairs and replacement of plant equipment based upon history, observations, engineering, operations, and maintenance best practices. • Update and maintain mechanical integrity documents affected by Management of Change activities. • Direct and oversee work of contractors (engineering, inspection, construction, and maintenance). • Establish, maintain, review, and apply engineering standards, codes and specifications. • Assist with regulatory audits and reviews and resolution of findings. • Review designs and layout of refinery equipment. • Issue or review drawings, specifications, requests for quotes and purchase orders for material and equipment. • Manage schedules, budgets, quality of work, and compliance with CHS's standards on work performed by outside contractors. • Keep abreast of new technology and industry best practices to continuously improve site mechanical integrity program. • Perform other duties as needed or assigned. Minimum Qualifications (required) • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from accredited four-year college or university • 2+ years of relevant plant engineering experience in refining, petrochemical, or related industry Additional Qualifications • Bachelor's degree preferred in mechanical or civil engineering • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook • Familiar with ASME, TEMA and API codes and standards • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. SUMMARY Responsible for all electrical diagnosis and repair on given shift to include the maintenance, service, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ideal candidate will have experience in PLC programming using ladder logic and troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuits to the component level. Ability to make repairs to systems, read drawings and schematics, utilize a variety of test equipment and work with low voltages. Must have the ability to work self-guided and be able to prioritize jobs. Position requires good communication skills to adequately relay the state of equipment and estimated repair time to others. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include, but are not limited to, the following: • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner. • Individual must have experience in Allen Bradley, Modicon, and Square D PLC logic programming. • Individual must possess electrical circuit troubleshooting skills. • Experience in an industrial environment as well as the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, sketches and schematics. • Must be familiar with related test equipment and three phase 480V circuits. • Experience with 480V and below. • Must be a dedicated, hard-working self-starter. • Experience in the repair, installation and troubleshooting of commercial industry machinery, robotics, plumbing, and/or physical building structure is desired. • Must be able to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes and any other PPE that is required in the performance of the responsibilities of the position. • Work safely and maintain a safe, clean work environment, and perform available work as required by the supervisor. • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed and to take on additional assignments as requested by management. • Maintain 5S standards. • Weekly on-call 6 times a year max. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS • Formal technical training in electronics with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the craft. Robotics background preferred.
