Manufacturing Engineer

Manufacturing Engineer – Machining – Salina, KS Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our machining department at the new Construction Equipment facility in Salina, KS. This position typically works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, machining processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, production workflow, and support design layout of equipment as necessary and workspace for maximum efficiency of painting equipment and processes using the Kubota Production System (KPS) principles.Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.Confer with vendors to determine product specifications meets Kubota specs and requirements. Arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards with a high return on investment (ROI).Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.Identify and prioritize issues that impact the Customer, establish their root cause and provide findings and recommendations for business improvement. Apply statistical methods to estimate future lean manufacturing process and requirements for return of investment potential.Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment. Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment.Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment. Preferred Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related degree from four-year college or university; four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a machine shop or manufacturing environment a plusUnderstanding of a variety of manufacturing equipment and systemsExperience with CNC Machining is extremely helpful for this roleAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesLean advocate with demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processesProficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Must be familiar with AutoCAD, 3D Solid Modeling and CreoExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to effectively present information to management and public groupsAbility to safely operate automobiles, trucks, tractors and liftsApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Mechanical Project Manager

Job Summary Seeking a meticulous and experienced Mechanical Project Manager. Role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC, Plumbing, or a related field, coupled with proven experience in estimating and project management within the construction industry. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Cost Estimation: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to accurately estimate the costs associated with mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. • Material and Labor Assessment: Evaluate the quantities of materials and labor required for mechanical installations, considering factors such as project scope, specifications, and local building codes. • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services needed for mechanical installations. • Cost Analysis: Conduct comprehensive cost analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options, and potential risks associated with mechanical systems. • Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and competitive bids for mechanical work, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements and deadlines. • Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide support during the pre-construction phase, including attending meetings, answering queries, and providing technical expertise as needed. • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation. Generate reports and summaries as required for internal review and client presentations. Requirements: • Experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Construction Management, or related field. • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and components. • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, FastPIPE, or similar applications. • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors. • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all estimates and deliverables. • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Familiarity with CAD software and practices a plus. $75,000 to $90,000+ - Compensation based on experience and background.
