An Operator Technician Mechanic operates, maintains, and repairs low or high-pressure boilers, turbine-generators, combustion turbines, and other generation station equipment. By maintaining generation related mechanical components and equipment, you'll be helping provide reliable and affordable energy to residents of Kansas. Qualifications: • Two year post high school education in mechanical maintenance and two years heavy industrial mechanical maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Proficient troubleshooting, repair, and resolution skills using sound mechanical aptitude, practices, methods, and procedures. • Successful completion of the Plant Operator Selections System (POSS) test and the Power Plant Maintenance Positions Selection System (MASS) test. • Able to work overtime, both scheduled and/or unscheduled. Able to respond and report to work during off hours in emergency situations. Able to work rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends.
