About the position The Mechanical Technician at Phillips 66 will be responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown repair of various mechanical systems, including natural gas engines and compressors. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment in compliance with company standards and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities • Perform maintenance and repairs on engines, compressors, and associated components. , • Overhaul compressors and engines, including foundation work, initial alignment, testing, and startup. , • Ensure safe, effective, and efficient performance of maintenance and operation activities. , • Comply with company policies, procedures, and directives. , • Perform work on air pollution control equipment. , • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on various types of equipment. , • Document regulatory and required inspections and duties accurately. , • Identify maintenance work and initiate work requests. , • Maintain clean facility appearance and safety using good housekeeping practices. , • Drive a company-owned vehicle safely within the assigned area. , • Diagnose mechanical problems effectively. , • Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control over 3rd Party contractors. Requirements • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country. , • Must be 18 years of age or older. , • High School Diploma/GED equivalent. , • Valid driver's license. , • Must live/relocate within 45 miles of reporting location. , • Willing and able to climb various ladders and stairs ranging 5 to 20 feet in height. , • Able to raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds. , • Occasionally exert pulling force of 130 pounds. , • Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material daily on uneven terrain. , • Work inside or outside in various weather conditions. , • Work alone a high percentage of the time. , • Work scheduled or unscheduled overtime as needed. , • Willing to work extended hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. , • Able to work a rotating call-out schedule. , • Wear fire-retardant clothing and other personal protective equipment.
