Technician 1 - Mechanical

Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a Mechanical Technician I to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals. The Mechanical Technician works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations. Our Mechanical Technician applies working technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks in the repair of various types of mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Specific tasks include: • Tests, analyzes, and overhauls electromechanical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment using manufacturer’s manuals or similar documentation, detailed drawings, cut away and exploded view drawings, electrical diagrams, and testing equipment • Verifies dimensions using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers • Remove, replace, and reinstall electrical and mechanical assemblies and hardware in the repair and overhaul of equipment using hand tools, power tools, hoists, precision-measuring and test equipment • Tests items per requirements for circuit continuity and operational reliability using multimeters, voltmeters, function generators, megohmmeters and oscilloscopes. Analyzes test results, makes repairs or adjustments accordingly • Receives technical guidance as required from supervisor or higher level technicians • Performs other related duties as assigned #CRF2025 Qualifications Basic Qualifications: • High school graduate or equivalent • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. • U.S. Citizenship required (Must have resided in the U.S. for the past five years with no more than six months travel outside the U.S. during this timeframe). • Formal mechanical training from an accredited program or equivalent military training, or a minimum of two years verifiable work history experience in mechanical and/or electromechanical repairs may be used in lieu of education • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude with the knowledge and ability to perform repairs on simple to medium complexity electromechanical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic items • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting techniques • Must be able to read both electrical and mechanical wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints • Understand the fundamentals of AC and DC motor theory, single and three phase motors Preferred Qualifications: • Familiarity with quality control processes Physical Requirements: • Heavy work. GMP Technician

Description Position at SBM Management The GMP Tech will be responsible for keeping assigned areas within GMP in clean and orderly condition. The tech will work successfully with fellow employees and others while understanding and following instructions, both verbal and written. The individual should be able to explain how to complete a task, using basic communication skills. Project Lead, Mechanical

The Topeka, Kansas plant has a Full Time opening for a Technical Lead, Projects-Mechanical in the Plant Engineering Team. It is an hourly, non-rotational, technical position with responsibilities to lead the trades and work related to pipe and utility systems to support Capital Project execution and equipment installations across all areas of the plant, as well as support the Facility and Operations teams with maintenance and reliability issues. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for the manufacture of pet foods and snacks while complying with all food safety, quality and regulatory requirements. • Understand and support company and site safety policies and perform work-related activities in a safe manner. Recognize unsafe working conditions, coach peers and suggest new safety standards as appropriate. • Understand, follow and improve documented operational, maintenance and sanitation standards in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) work environment. • Supervise the pipe fitting and insulation trades including daily planning and coordinating resources (equipment, contract labor and plant labor) as related to pipe and utility systems to support equipment installations and start-ups in alignment with Operations and Capital Project schedules. • Provide support with supervision of the pipe fitting and insulation trades for Facility and Operations maintenance and reliability tasks as needed. • Assist in cost estimating and procurement of equipment, materials and labor within established project budgets. • Assist with organization and maintenance of plant documentation and drawings related to pipe and utility systems. • Provide assistance and support to R&D and TSO for Plant tests in manufacturing and packaging areas. • Lead projects to improve safety, quality or production results in a designated area. • Work as part of a team and assist fellow employees when needed. • Other duties as assigned.
