Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Oversee the startup of GE control systems, utilizing hands-on expertise to ensure efficient and reliable system initialization and promptly addressing any issues that arise during the process. • Monitor the overall health of control systems, identifying and implementing actions and procedures to maintain and improve the integrity of plant control systems. • Oversee DCS systems to swiftly identify and resolve control and tuning issues, ensuring optimal system performance. • Develop and implement safe, reliable, and efficient control strategies that adapt to the changing requirements of both existing and new plant processes. • Provide clear and concise engineering analysis of control issues impacting plant safety, reliability, and efficiency, and develop solutions to address these issues. • Recommend and advise on plant performance improvements, operational modifications, control system enhancements, and control network security testing. • Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, both internal and external to the project, ensuring clear information exchange. • Download files, review logic, configuration, and control blocks in Emerson systems. • Lead the planning and execution of the system upgrade project. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new control systems. • Conduct thorough testing and validation of the upgraded systems. • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during and after the transition. • Develop and maintain project documentation, including technical specifications and progress reports. • Train and mentor team members on new system functionalities and best practices. • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the system upgrade. • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns. Job Requirements: • Strong knowledge with Emerson Ovation and/or GE Mark V control systems, Foxboro highly desired. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting logic drawings, electrical schematics, and interface cards. • Solid understanding of control system installation and commissioning principles. • Expertise in GE control system tuning and troubleshooting. • Familiarity with GE control system operational requirements. • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and adherence to safety guidelines.
