Mechanical Engineer

FORCE America, Inc. is looking to fill an opening for a Mechanical Engineer at our Manitowoc, WI - LDI Industries Location. Overview: Our Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, estimating and maintaining designs for our applications. This role requires working extensively with the Product Manager, customers, and engineering teams to produce high quality, cost effective products that exceed customer expectations. Essential Responsibilities: • Provide daily production support to teams. • Collaborate with production personnel seeking methods to improve safety, quality, and efficiency. • Assist with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) during product development stages. • Develop design concepts and prepare cost estimates. • Determine and implement cost reductions by improving process efficiencies. • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives of department processes. • Assist with root causes of failures and corrective action plans. • Assist with incoming change requests from engineering and manufacturing. • Assist manufacturing with prototypes. • Create and define documented process flows. • Validate labor estimates by performing time studies on manufacturing builds. • Implement Lean manufacturing and systems throughout the organization. • Assist with designs using 3D modeling CAD tools within SolidWorks. • Support 2D drawing updates and maintenance in Draft Site. • Develop and maintain production documentation. • Perform data entry and inquiries in ERP System (Infor XA), including new custom products and BOMs. • Strong desire for continued learning, development, and training. • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or strongly related field. • 1-2 years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred. • High level of patience and desire are required to support multiple personality types in the production environment. • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Theory of Constraints and Six Sigma. • Experience creating or updating assembly and test fixtures, preferred but not required. • Working knowledge of MS office. • Good oral, written, and presentation skills. • Ability to multi-task and function in a fast-paced work environment. • Ability to work with a sense of urgency independently or within a team. • Detail oriented with an appreciation for deadlines. • Enthusiastic attitude with good listening skills. Electromechanical Technician - 2nd Shift

Job Overview Perform all duties necessary to the efficient operation of all equipment in the plant. Operate and maintain plant equipment in accordance with standard work and building procedures. Responsibilties • Monitor and follow all safety preventative measures and practices, including 5S+ safety guidelines • Must be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of all plant electrical equipment and systems • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. • Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately • Train and direct electricians • Establish and maintain records on all electrical equipment • Must be familiar with and have the ability to operate plant machinery related to job assignments • Must be capable of following and meeting standard work requirements • Must be able to use computer programs to assist in recording data, making labels, printing tooling layouts, obtaining prints and specifications, printing ship-sets, etc. • Promote positive teamwork • Perform all types of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on plant machinery • Must be accountable for process, evaluation, measurement, documentation, and improvement on a continuous basis • Able to foster professionalism with all associates along with internal and external customers • Design, install, inspect, and maintain all 480 volt and 120 volt circuitry • Modify machinery power circuits to make them compatible with facility feed lines • Test, repair, and replace electronic circuitry with facility feed lines • Design, install, and test controls and cable systems • Have a thorough knowledge of all bearings, seals, clutches, pumps, gears, etc. • Troubleshoot all electrical equipment, such as motors, transformers, controls, instruments, lights, heaters, etc. • Understand interface between mechanical and electrical controls • Inspect all electrical work to ensure compliance with applicable codes • Work independently in planning, laying out, and performing assigned machine repair work • Machine repair assignments may consist of preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, overhaul, etc. • Works from complicated machine drawings, part list, specifications, schematics, and verbal instructions • Reproduce and/or repair machine parts, holders, and attachments to strict tolerances utilizing tool room equipment, such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, welders, etc. • May be required to establish and maintain records for machine repair items • Actively participate in department and process team activities and projects • Other duties may be assigned at a later time Qualifications • High school graduate plus 4 years formal trades training or equivalent experience. Journeyman’s license as • an electrician preferred. • Experience in Industrial equipment electrical systems, including P.L.C. controls and troubleshooting preferred • Must be able to read and use complicated drawings, diagrams and specifications. • Use electrical hand tools and associated electrical measuring devices.
