Manufacturing Engineer

We are hiring Associate to Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to lead and provide ongoing support through our manufacturing life cycle! What You Will Be Doing: With general direction, will lead the introduction of new products into the facility, improve productivity and profitability of existing production procedures, and provide ongoing support through the manufacturing life cycle. Acts as a technical expert in process technology Improvements: Independently, with innovation and creativity, evaluates manufacturing processes to ensure optimal labor and material costs to increase productivity and profitability. Through justifications and evaluations, identifies prime areas for improvement. Tracks expenditures to ensure outlays are within budgeted amounts. Identifies, reduces, and eliminates worker exposure(s) to ergonomic stress(es) in the work place. Floor Support: Provides timely product and process support for any manufacturing area to diagnose problems, identify and implement solutions to minimize interruptions to production. Special Projects: Leads the implementation of significant product, process, Cost reduction or other corporate change initiatives being introduced into the plant. Strategic/Manufacturing Planning: Provides advanced research to introduce/integrate new processes, equipment, and technologies into the company Your future team: You will be part of large and collaborative operations network at Steelcase. Who You Are: Preferred Skills and Competencies • Very strong analysis skills: process, capacity, cost/benefit, waste stream, and quality tools. • Internal and external quality support/management • Knowledge in lean manufacturing techniques: flow, PQ, equipment reliability, and set up reduction. • Knowledge of material handling • Productivity improvement techniques: RCI’s • Economics and financial analysis • Ability to document process, functional specifications, etc. • Desirable experience in working or applying Automation, visual systems, IIOT, etc. • Experience in design, specification, purchase, and installation of new equipment • Knowledge of simulation, process modeling, and value stream mapping • Occupational Bio Mechanics/Human Factors Engineering • Desirable experience in applying solving methods Techniques (6 Sigma, TQM etc.) Required Skills and Competencies • 4 year technical degree or equivalent education Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronic, Electrical or similar engineering fields. • 2+ years of hands on manufacturing experience • Desirable experience in Metal mechanics. • Desirable experience in product costing calculation. • Must be willing to work flexible hours Who We Are: Steelcase is a global design and thought leader in the world of work. Engineering Technician - Maintenance

Position Description • The Maintenance Technician will have the ability to install, analyze, maintain, and repair all types of mechanical and electrical production equipment. • They are responsible for the maintenance and repair of machinery and auxiliary equipment, as well as building special items to support multiple production lines. • They will engage in the repair of tools, machinery, equipment, and repair and maintain machines. Essential Job Functions • Maintain and repair equipment and tools as needed and per the PM schedule. • Perform duties of both master electrician and master machine repairman classifications. • Analyze information from work orders, verbal information, daily observations, manufacturer’s manuals, schematics, prints and other sources to maintain equipment to diagnose and correct malfunctions. • Communicates consistently with internal customers regarding status of equipment. • Advises supervisor of needs for outside services and works with service representatives on equipment and controls repair and installation. • Prepares bills of material on jobs requiring major material use and initiates purchase requisitions. • Makes day to day work-related decisions and prioritize needs to complete more urgent items first. • Uses various material handling equipment such as hoists, carts, lifts, fork trucks and hand trucks in moving light to heavy weight material. • Uses a variety of lock-out/tag-out devices as required per plant LOTO Plan. • Potential to work off-shifts and/or weekends. Controls Engineer
