Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview: Lindquist Machine Co., LLC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in equipment design, with hands-on experience in assembly, start-up, and on-site installation. Experience with machining, fabrication, or automation systems is a strong plus. This role is key to the design, development, and implementation of custom automated equipment that meets customer specifications and manufacturing standards. Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and components using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred; Autodesk Inventor or similar acceptable). • Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings with appropriate detail and tolerances to ensure proper fit, function and manufacturability. • Perform engineering calculations for stress, load, and deflection, to ensure robust designs. • Participate in concept development, detailed design, prototyping, machine testing, and validation. • Review and interpret mechanical drawings, material specifications, and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with design requirements. • Collaborate with fabrication, machining, assembly, and controls teams to validate design intent and resolve production issues. • Provide hands-on support during builds, assembly, and on-site equipment installation. • Troubleshoot mechanical and system-level issues during integration and field startup. · Capable of reverse engineering existing outdated/unsupported equipment. Modify and improve existing equipment designs for performance, cost, or manufacturability • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications • Manage multiple projects, working independently with minimal supervision. • Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to define requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required). · Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, industrial automation, or equipment engineering. · Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; Autodesk Inventor experience a plus. · Strong knowledge of mechanical fits and tolerances · Familiarity with manufacturing practices. · Hands-on experience with fabrication, machining, and assembly. · Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. · Ability to perform load and force calculations. · Familiarity with sheet metal design, pneumatic and servo systems (robotics is a plus) · Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Technical Competencies: · Development of detailed system and assembly drawings. · Creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOMs). · Material selection for structural and rotating components. · Machine checkout and validation testing. · Ability to create and develop 3D models from conceptual designs, ensuring alignment with the intended vision. Work Environment: · Approximately 60–75% office-based design and engineering work. · 25–40% hands-on work in shop and manufacturing environments. · Up to 25% travel for site visits, installations, and customer support. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods; maneuver around machinery to take measurements; and travel as required. Must be capable of extended work hours during customer startups (up to 12+ hours per day for consecutive days). 3rd Shift - Electro-Mechanical Technician

Join Our Team as an Electro-Mechanical Technician at Green Bay Packaging – Folding Carton Division | De Pere, WI Do you thrive on diagnosing and solving diverse mechanical and electrical issues? If so, we’d love to meet you! Join our team as an Electro-Mechanical Technician and play a vital role in keeping our production running smoothly. You’ll work hands-on with a variety of equipment and systems including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and PC-based systems and also contribute to general building maintenance. Education & Experience Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or a similar program preferred. Relevant experience could be considered in lieu of a degree. What You’ll Do: Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Performing preventative maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently. • Troubleshooting and repairing equipment breakdowns. • Installing and commissioning new equipment. • Running conduit; installing cable trays, pulling cables and wires. • Installing and maintaining electrical drives, motors, and control systems. • Troubleshooting and programming PLCs. • Replacing and installing lighting fixtures and lamps. • Performing general building maintenance tasks. • Other duties as assigned. What We’re Looking For • Strong troubleshooting skills and manual dexterity. • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints. • Solid electrical and mechanical knowledge, including AC, DC, low voltage, and 480V equipment. • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting. • Comfortable working at heights (using ladders and aerial platforms). • Strong communication and organizational skills. • Basic computer proficiency. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Sense of urgency and attention to detail. Work Schedule • Regular shift: 3rd shift, Sunday–Thursday, 10 pm – 6 am. • Initial training: up to the first 120 days of employment working on day shift, Monday–Friday, 6 am – 2 pm. • Some overtime and weekend work may be required. Position Summary: Measure, cut, shape and apply insulating materials to pipes, ductwork and other mechanical systems in commercial and industrial settings. Essential Job Functions: To perform this position successfully, the following responsibilities must be performed satisfactorily. The following responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Determine the kind of tools, equipment, and material needed to do a job • Select appropriate insulation based on heat retaining or excluding characteristics of the material • Measure, cut and shape insulation materials • Prepare surfaces for insulation application by brushing or spreading on adhesives or by attaching metal pins to surfaces • Constantly and consistently work according to the physical requirements of the job, as indicated below under Working Conditions and Physical Demands. • Apply, remove and repair insulating materials, protective coverings, coatings, and finishes to all types of mechanical systems, including pipes, ductwork, heat exchangers, tanks and vessels as well as around penetrations in all rated wall or floor assemblies to prevent passage of fire, smoke and gases • Provide direction to crew members, mentor and train new hires, and work with other craft • Demonstrate high level of commitment to quality, safety, and productivity • Sweep, clean and organize jobsites Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • 5+ years of experience in mechanical insulation • Valid Driver’s License & able to travel to jobsites located in and out of Brown County • Must be at least 18 years of age • Must be able to constantly and consistently work according to the physical requirements of the job, as indicated below under Working Conditions and Physical Demands • Above average knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including OSHA regulations • Skilled with materials, methods and tools involved in the insulation and draft-stopping of commercial mechanical systems • Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the insulation and draft-stopping of commercial mechanical systems • Must be comfortable with a high intensity work environment working in hot/cold temperatures, indoors and outdoors. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and over 50 pounds with assistance.
