Knowledge of welding on various metals and the preparation of metals for welding. • Skill in reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, service manuals and other reference materials; diagnosing defective equipment; performing complete engine, transmission and related vehicle component overhauls; including heavy duty automatic and manual transmissions. • Ability to install, repair and maintain specialized parts, including necessary component overhauls and field repairs. Ability to operate equipment for maintenance and trouble-shooting activities. Ability to operate all Public Works equipment and electronic test equipment.
