Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer

This role works closely with the design and manufacturing teams to support testing, resolve technical issues, and ensure quality standards are met across railcar components. What We Offer: • $1,000 Hiring Bonus • 100% Employee Insurance Coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision) • 50% Dependent Health Benefits • 401(k) with Company Match • Paid Holidays, and a Generous PTO Policy • Opportunities for Career Growth What You'll Do: • Support the mechanical installation, assembly, and testing of train components • Develop and review technical specifications for systems and client requirements • Troubleshoot production issues and advise on design or process improvements • Collaborate with technical staff to resolve electrical and mechanical issues • Analyze and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and manuals • Coordinate and inspect final installations to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards What We're Looking For: • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required • 1-3 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering (rail or manufacturing preferred) • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (ProE or AutoCAD preferred) • Experience with SAP and analog circuit simulation tools (e.g., PSPICE) • Understanding of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Physical and Other Requirements: • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test • Frequently required to stand, walk, or climb around railcars or shop floor areas • Valid driver's license required Ready to Build Your Future with Us? Mechanical Engineer/Project Coordinator

Be our next Mechanical Engineer/Project Coordinator Your work environment at EXP In this role, you will be a part of the Mechanical team, of the Entertainment, Hospitality and Healthcare sector , based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. What a day at EXP has in store for you • Revit or CAD proficient with working in 3D models • Prepare HVAC one-line diagrams • Prepare/ Review HVAC calculations for loads • Thorough knowledge of Mechanical and energy codes • Edit specifications to reflect the project requirements • Develop equipment room sizes during SD and DD phases • Select and schedule equipment • Meet with vendors to determine specification requirements for application • Coordinates with other disciplines (mepfp, arch, struct, etc) • Respond to RFI’s for the project, and accurately review submittals • Solve installation problems • Apply risk management procedures daily to minimize exp’s and client’s exposure to problems • Understand MEP/FP work planning and manage design process to the available hours in work plan • Understand proper scope of MEP/FP SD, DD, CD level documents – and deliver appropriate documentation • Work with project coordinator and Clients to meet scheduled project milestones of multiple projects • Manage and deliver revisions (ASI’s, etc) and sketches according to proper numbering convention • Edit and develop scope of work narratives (SD narrative, basis of design, etc) • Market Sector – Understands specific engineering requirements for applications within a market sector • Understand and properly provide existing exp details relevant to projects • Be able to direct and mentor Designer level staff on all of their responsibilities on a daily basis • Perform at a ‘responsible charge’ level; meeting exp’s design and quality levels • QA/QC reviews of all calculations by designers, and provide guidance and mentoring • Determine content of drawings and specs for Designers in order to meet the scope of work • Develop and monitor work plans in conjunction with other Project Managers • Review code related items with Designers, and ensure compliance • Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours • Write studies and reports for systems on projects • Writes sequences of operations for AHU’s, CHW and HW systems • Understands and applies concepts of CHW, HW, WSHP, variable & constant flow systems • Air side systems- CV, VAV, coil selection, fan selection • Hydronic Systems-hot, chilled condenser, steam • Thorough understanding of psychometrics and be able to apply to every project • Advanced equipment selection and analysis – chillers, boilers, air terminals, cooling towers, air valves, hepa filters, DX equipment, and water source heat pumps • Thorough understanding of total energy concepts • Knowledge of Fluent in energy software applicationsParticipation Fluent in developing life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) for project systems What your experience looks like • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering • Candidate should have an engineering degree in the field of mechanical engineering with 7+ years of building HVAC design experience • EIT or Registered Professional Engineer preferred • Experience designing in Hospitality, Healthcare or Federal preferred Our story With a mission to understand, innovate, partner and deliver, EXP provides engineering, architecture, design and consulting services to the world’s built and natural environments.
