JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Perform field inspections during various stages of construction • Review plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and residential projects to ensure compliance with city, state, and federal laws and regulations • Perform Rental Housing inspections in accordance with municipal ordinances and regulations • Report violations and maintain files/records • Perform other related duties as required SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: • Extensive knowledge of local mechanical building codes and current construction procedures and technology. • Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions • Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment • Skill in prioritizing and executing assignments with limited supervision. Skill in using independent judgment and discretion. • Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously. MECHANICAL ENGINEER

• Architect (updated 10/10/2022)Electrical Engineer(updated 10/10/2022) MECHANICAL ENGINEER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • The Mechanical Project Engineer will work under the supervision and support of the Muskegon office HVAC Engineer Project Leader. • Technical site engineering for commercial, industrial, governmental, and aviation projects. • Prepare drawing packages for all stages of projects from initial concept, studies, site plan, and client approval, through permitting, bidding, & construction. • Perform HVAC load calculations, and hydronic and air distribution system sizing calculations. • Perform equipment selections compatible with the existing building systems and project needs. • Review client, local, state, and national code requirements to develop site layouts and meet special requirements. • Review and incorporate client-specific design standards into projects. • Review equipment vendor documentation to determine installation and integration requirements. • Develop design documents for equipment layout, ventilation, piping, and plumbing drawings. • Work closely with designers, engineers, and project managers to coordinate mechanical design with other disciplines, both within the firm and partnering consultants, to meet project deliverables. • Preparation of project and equipment specification documents. • Review of RFI’s, contractor submittals, and shop drawings. • Client interface as part of the team. • Site visits for field measurements and inspections. • Preparation of technical reports, project cost estimates, and engineering studies.
