Schreiner University launched its Engineering major in Fall 2022 with tracks in Mechanical and Civil and is on track to attain ABET accreditation. We seek an individual with a strong commitment to undergraduate education in a liberal arts environment, and leadership potential to develop and grow this new program. Research specialization is open, and we will give full consideration to applicants from all Mechanical Engineering specializations. Primary responsibilities include teaching 12cr per semester of lower level and upper-level engineering courses. Typical duties for the position also include mentoring undergraduate research projects compatible with the resources available at a primarily undergraduate institution and service to the university through committee work and academic advising of undergraduate students. Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) or ABD with completion no later than July 2025. Teaching experience is preferred. INTRODUCTION: This job description describes the authority, duties, responsibilities, reporting relationships and measure of accomplishment for the functional position of the Automation Engineer of All-Plastics. BASIC FUNCTION: This position is responsible for the general maintenance of production equipment and creating automation systems. Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose and perform moderate to complex repairs on machinery. Must have thorough knowledge of functions and operations of all process and associated support equipment. AUTHORITY: The Automation Engineer receives sufficient authority from and is accountable to the General Manager for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Automation Engineer reports directly to the Plant Manager. This position does not supervise any direct reports.
