You must be able to meet manufacturer’s safety requirements on equipment used. Mechanic II

This position will function as a multi-specialty mechanic focusing on HVAC systems. Mechanics work in the hospital and the physician practice settings and play a crucial role in ensuring that the hospital facilities operate efficiently and safely. They perform routine and preventative maintenance on various equipment, do general construction and maintenance work, and assist with emergency management duties. JOB SUMMARY: The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various building systems within the hospital, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. The role ensures that hospital facilities are safe, functional, and compliant with health and safety regulations. This technician collaborates with various departments to ensure that all hospital equipment and infrastructure are in optimal working condition. Reports directly to Plant Operations Manager and indirectly to Facilities Director. Non-exempt position. Key Responsibilities: 1. Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Troubleshoot and repair hospital equipment, including generators, air conditioning units, boilers, and lighting systems. Repair and maintain medical gas systems, plumbing fixtures, and general hospital infrastructure. Identify and address issues related to carpentry, painting, and general building upkeep. 2. System Monitoring: Inspect and monitor equipment performance, such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), electrical systems, and boilers. Conduct regular inspections of emergency systems, including fire alarms, extinguishers, and backup power systems. Maintain records of maintenance and repair work, ensuring that all tasks comply with regulatory standards. 3. Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including healthcare safety standards. Adhere to safety protocols when working with hazardous materials or equipment. Assist in preparing for inspections by regulatory agencies. 4. Emergency Response: Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner, including issues such as power outages, plumbing leaks, and equipment malfunctions. Be available for on-call support during off-hours and weekends, when necessary. 5. Collaboration: Work closely with hospital departments to schedule maintenance tasks without disrupting patient care. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repair work when required. Communicate effectively with the facility management team to report on the status of ongoing maintenance tasks. 6. Inventory Management: Track and maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts. Order necessary supplies and parts to ensure minimal downtime during repairs. Skills & Qualifications: Technical Skills: Proficiency in electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.Certifications: Current EPA certification & Technician certification required. Other relevant certifications in electrical, plumbing, or other trades preferred. OSHA safety certifications preferred.Experience: 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and fix a variety of technical and mechanical issues.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with hospital staff and contractors.Physical Ability: Capable of lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods. Diesel Mechanic

Purpose: Perform diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment.
