PAL-CON, Ltd. repairs, services, refurbishes, manufactures, removes, and installs gas turbine regenerators for the natural gas and electric utility industries. Regenerators are built and installed for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another. We also provide engineering, fabrication, and installation services for clients. • * MUST HAVE experience as an engineer in a manufacturing setting AND working with Natural Gas compressor stations** Responsibilities The Mechanical Design ENGINEER will be required to perform a variety of duties from moderately difficult to complex to aid in the timely, efficient, and accurate design of products manufactured/fabricated to specifications necessary to meet our clients' needs. • Apply physics, engineering, and design principles to the development of mechanical systems and devices. • Engineered products may include turbine exhaust ducting, exhaust silencers, support structures, and piping. • Designs may include flexible metal products (i.e. bellows and expansion joints) in accordance with requirements and applicable codes. • Work closely with sales, engineers, production, purchasing, and quality personnel to gain an understanding of the scope and requirements of a project. • Use both manual drawing skills and computer-aided applications to design and produce drawings of fabricated metal components. • Assist with or be responsible for the creation of new products and designs; the revision of existing products and designs; the creation, review, and/or modification of prints and BOMs; and the provision of installation support for projects. • Perform various data analyses. • Interpret verbal instructions and translate them into realistic drawings. • Familiarization with the materials used and components manufactured at PAL-CON, Ltd. The Department Head manages faculty, staff, and student affairs; plays a key role in budget and resource management; oversees strategic planning; and represents the department to external stakeholders.
