Position Overview We are seeking an experienced QC Inspector Mechanical to perform quality control inspections and documentation for mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection networks. The role ensures that all installations meet project specifications, applicable Texas local codes, and relevant international standards. This position reports directly to the QC Engineer and works closely with Trade Team Leads, subcontractors, and the client's QA/QC representatives to ensure that all mechanical works are executed in line with approved procedures and codes. Key Responsibilities • Inspect and verify mechanical works such as HVAC systems, chilled and condenser water piping, domestic and sanitary water systems, and firefighting installations. • Review IFC and shop drawings, material submittals, and test procedures to confirm compliance with approved documents. • Ensure adherence to ITPs, Quality Plans, and project specifications, including hold and witness points. • Conduct field inspections during installation, testing, and commissioning phases; ensure conformity with IMC, IPC, IBC, ASME, ASTM, and local Texan code amendments. • Document inspection results, deficiencies, and corrective actions using established QA/QC forms (MMRs, IRs, NCRs, punch lists). • Support QC Engineer in coordinating testing activities such as pressure tests, flow tests, and system flushing. • Liaise with the General Contractor (GC), trade partners, and client QA/QC team for inspection scheduling and verification. • Attend daily coordination (flex and stretch) meetings to anticipate upcoming activities and resolve quality issues. • Maintain inspection logs, photographs, and checklists; ensure timely submission of reports and completion of follow-up actions. • Comply with all project safety and OSHA 29 CFR 1926 requirements during field inspections. Applicable Codes and Standards (Reference) • International Building Code (IBC) and International Mechanical Code (IMC) • International Plumbing Code (IPC) (for mechanical interfaces) • ASME (B31 series, pressure vessels, piping systems) • ASTM (A, B, and D series for materials and testing) • NFPA 13 / 20 for fire protection systems • Local Texas code amendments and enforcement practices Required Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or Construction. • 37 years of quality control inspection experience in mechanical works within large-scale commercial or industrial projects. • Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, installation practices, and quality inspection methods. • Familiarity with ITPs, NCR management, and commissioning documentation. • Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals. • Proficiency in MS Office. • Excellent attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and coordination skills. • Physically fit for site inspections in active construction environments. Preferred Qualifications • ISO 9001:2015 or NICET certification in mechanical inspection or testing. • ICC Mechanical Inspector or equivalent local certification. • Experience in Texas code enforcement practices and local authority inspection coordination. Reporting & Authority • Reports directly to the QC Engineer and functionally supports the Trade Team Lead. • Authorized to issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-compliant work and verify corrective actions. • Coordinates with subcontractor foremen and project engineers to ensure immediate rectification of deficiencies.

MEP Engineer - Mechanical

Position Description: Manage, evaluate, and assess information related to Mechanical and Electrical systemsnecessary to construct the project on time in a safe manner, within budget, and to the qualityspecified by the contract documents. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Specifically relating to the mechanical and electrical systems: • Lead the Turner project team, subcontractors, owner's consultants and representatives to ensure optimal alignment and efficient systems installation. • Prepare and manage the contract item's list for all components, materials, and systems to ensure that all ROJ dates are in compliance with the project schedule with the appropriate approval status. • Participate in schedule update meetings and provide the latest information for an informed and accurate schedule. • Evaluate and manage the processing of RFI's. • Manage the budget including the review, evaluation, and negotiation of all change orders with understanding of the financial status of all subcontractors. • Supervise, coach and mentor Assistant MEP Engineers. • Co-lead the MEP Coordination Process with the VDC Engineer, ensuring overall installation is in compliance with the design requirements, operations and maintenance fundamentals, and quality standards. • Prepare scope of work documents with a division of responsibility for trades and specific scopes of work for temporary operations. • Partner with the MEP Superintendent to resolve conflicts between the mechanical and electrical systems with the site logistics plan and in compliance with the project schedule. • Co-lead with the MEP Superintendent the overall turnover process including start-up, testing, commissioning and closeout. • Conduct regular project walkthroughs with the MEP staff to ensure that work is proceeding in accordance with the contract documents, coordination drawings, and approved submittals. • Identify and inform field staff of difficult installation requirements in sufficient time to allow for proper planning and execution. • Manage and secure all municipal and agency documentation required for temporary certificates of information and system operation. • Create and implement the quality control plan with the MEP Superintendent.
