Mechanical Engineer III The ideal candidate for this role will live in the Duluth-Twin Ports or Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN area. Must reside in the United States. Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations • Adhere to the core values of Relationships, Communication, Solutions, Technical Proficiency, Quality, and Responsiveness as defined by JBW. • Must have an entrepreneurial attitude and be willing to tackle different tasks as they arise. • Provide Mechanical Engineering duties related to industrial facilities. These duties vary by project and current workload. • Must be willing to work in daily collaboration with other JBW team members and a variety of industrial clients. • Perform field verifications and identify and organize gathered field information. • Work in CAD software including but not limited to Revit, AutoCAD 3D, Plant 3D, and Inventor. • Complete and/or review drawings, calculations, equipment selection, and analysis accurately while following JBW’s quality control methods. • Assist with project reporting requirements and documentation. • Provide oversight and guidance to entry level engineers and designers on project work. • Manage scope, budgets, and schedules while balancing multiple projects in parallel. • Familiarity with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications. • Build new and maintain existing relationships with clients, vendors, and external resources. • Research new software and come up with innovative ways to provide value to our clients through cutting edge technology. • Perform site visits safely that range from 1-5 days, sometimes requiring travel (all expenses included). Travel is expected to be less than 10% annually but can vary in the short term based on project needs. • Other job duties as needed. Required Skills/Abilities: • Proficiency working in CAD software including but not limited to Revit, AutoCAD 3D, Plant 3D, and Inventor. • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu software. • Experience working in industrial settings such as refineries, mines, power plants, etc. • Experience with designing material handling systems. • Experience developing drawing packages and specifications for contractors to build from. • Knowledge of industry standards and codes. • Ability to perform engineering analysis. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook). • Excellent leadership, writing, and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, project teams, and stakeholders. • Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations, reports, and proposals to communicate complex technical concepts effectively. • Ability to manage multiple small projects simultaneously. • Ability to manage clients. Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited program. • 6-10 years of relevant experience. • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure No unsolicited agency or third-party recruiter submissions will be accepted. Mechanical Technician/Designer - Entry Level (Hybrid)

Summary: Barr is seeking a mechanical technician/designer to work on mechanical engineering projects involving data collection, planning, problem solving, design, and construction assistance. The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams to provide computer-aided drafting using AutoCAD, CADWorx, and other drafting software on a Windows platform.Assignments will include working closely with engineers to create, update, and revise drawings of mechanical and miscellaneous systems and may entail visiting project sites to gather information for drawings. Projects may involve drafting designs for pumping and piping systems, industrial ventilation, industrial equipment, conveyor systems, building systems, and various details. Occasional assistance with structural, electrical, or civil design may also be required. Minimum Qualifications: • Two-year technical certificate or experience/coursework directly related to the job responsibilities described above • Proficiency in current versions of AutoCAD • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients • Strong technical and problem-solving skills • Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness • A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs • Superior task management skills, including scheduling, prioritizing, and following up • Possession of valid driver's license and acceptable driving record • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future Preferred Qualifications: • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and their applications in an industrial environment • Proficiency in additional drafting packages, such as CADWorx, Revit Structural, Solidworks, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Geopak, as well as in spreadsheet, GIS, or word processing software • Familiarity with work in an industrial environment and basic knowledge of industrial disciplines and industrial construction A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Barr's Duluth or Minneapolis, Minnesota, or Ann Arbor, Michigan, offices. Compensation: The anticipated base hourly range forthis position is $21.10-$30.00/hour. This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance.
