Mechanical Designer

Description Position Overview We are seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will develop detailed 2D and 3D designs, support new product development, and ensure mechanical components and assemblies meet all functional, safety, and quality standards. This is a hands-on, collaborative position where technical expertise, creativity, and teamwork are essential to success. Key Responsibilities • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar). • Collaborate with engineers to design mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for both new and existing products. • Ensure designs comply with safety requirements, industry standards, and company specifications. • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs and technical drawings. • Support dimensional analysis, material selection, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews. • Assist in prototype development, testing, and validation. • Partner with cross-functional teams (quality, supply chain, etc.) to resolve design issues. • Recommend and implement design improvements to enhance cost, performance, and reliability. • Manage design changes and revisions through the ECO process. • Support creation of product guides, illustrations, and technical specifications. • Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, and design practices. Qualifications • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related field. • 4+ years of relevant experience using 3D CAD in a manufacturing environment. • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, etc.). • Strong understanding of dimensioning practices. • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, sheet metal, etc.), and assembly methods. • Experience with design documentation, revision control, and engineering change processes. • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and standards. • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in consumer products, industrial equipment, or related industries. • Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or other simulation tools. • Hands-on prototyping or shop floor experience. • Knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
