Mechanical Engineer

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to add to our experienced engineering team in Eau Claire, WI. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES • Create 3D models based on specifications laid out in contract documentation • Create shop fabrication drawings • Create all required pneumatics, hydraulic or lubrication schematics • Investigate outside suppliers for purchased and/or outsourced parts • Communicate with production personnel to improve drawing quality and shop efficiency • Communicate with customers to verify fit of new equipment into existing facility as required. This includes travel to customer locations throughout North America. • Manage Bom's in ERP system. • Ensure design meets contract and safety requirements • Maintain Engineering documentation • Assist Sales department to develop proposal drawings for new projects • QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. • Minimum of three years’ experience in 3D solid modeling, preferably Solidworks. • Experience in a steel fabrication environment including machining and welding specifications. • Solidworks PDM, Solidworks Weldments and Sheet Metal experience preferred. • Works collaboratively with others to accomplish team and company objectives • Effective organizational, time management skills and follow-through ability • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Accurate and strong attention to detail. • Proficient in MS Office. • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively. As a Field Engineer you will: • Provide support to Project Managers and Department Manager as required; includes project analysis and compliance, document control, coordinate and attend meetings, help estimating team, promote safety and a safe work environment, etc. • Research and understand technical engineering information to ensure projects comply with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions. • Assist in evaluation and help identify solutions of potential field issues, referring them to a Project Manager for final submission and documentation. • Assist in plan and spec analysis to provide clear, trackable and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction. • Understand and perform document control functions in accordance with on-site policy and procedures, including tracking and creating of RFI’s, transmitting and tracking of submittals, and assistance to field personnel with document follow-through. Assists in document and progress tracking throughout the duration of projects, including billings, WIPs and other progress/financial tracking measures. • Help produce estimates by completing take-offs, writing proposals and working with the estimating team to support the proposal process as needed. • Research and recommend creative solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences and errors/omissions. • Participate in the accurate generation, continuous updating and close-out of as built and other documents. • Assist with the research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues. • Attend project coordination, owner/contractor/architect/engineer and strategic plan development meetings as required. • Support the department’s Standard Operating Processes (SOP’s) and ensure they are followed in all work performed. • Perform other duties as assigned. Experience/Education Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field of study, OR three years of construction related experience. • Knowledge of blueprint reading and the integration of multiple buildings systems. • Knowledge of commercial construction, mechanical HVAC, plumbing systems and estimating experience preferred. • Exhibit technical aptitude and computer skills including MS Office (excel, word, power point). Familiarity with/ability to learn AutoCAD, BIM design, Revit, PlanGrid, Bluebeam/Adobe Pro, estimating software, Procore/ Primavera or other software, file sharing systems. • Well-developed organizational and time management skills; ability to schedule/coordinate projects to meet expressed deadlines. • Desire to master construction concepts, bring every project to a successful conclusion. • iPhone and iPad experience helpful • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills. • Valid State Driver’s license, and able to travel to or work from project sites. Maintenance Technicians work three or four 12-hour shifts each week. Rotating every 8 weeks from days / night (7am - 7pm) and (7pm - 7am) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Demonstrate Drylock Core Values: Safety, Respect, Ownership • Follows all safety regulations. • Follows all quality standards and good manufacturing standards. • Be present at crossover at the beginning and end of every shift. Maintenance Technician Qualifications: • High school graduate or equivalent. • Minimum 2 years consecutive employment with 1 employer • High school diploma or GED required • 2-year technical degree preferred. • Score a minimum of 70% on the Bennett Mechanical Aptitude assessment.
