Mechanical Designer II

Ravek is a fast-growing company specializing in the design and manufacturing of innovative UTV accessories. From advanced lighting systems to storage and comfort upgrades, our mission is to build premium products that enhance safety, performance, and rider experience. We are seeking a Mechanical Designer II to join our R&D team. This role requires strong SolidWorks skills, creativity in solving design challenges, and a passion for hands-on work. The ideal candidate is someone who isn’t afraid to get dirty, enjoys the process of developing parts, and thrives on turning ideas into real products. Key Responsibilities · Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks. · Manage and maintain engineering drawings, assemblies, and BOMs with proper revision control. · Build and assemble prototypes (3D printing, machining, hands-on fabrication) to validate fit, form, and function. · Contribute creative design ideas that push innovation in UTV accessories. · Work directly with parts, tools, and materials—embracing the messy, hands-on side of product development. · Support DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews with domestic and international suppliers. · Conduct tolerance stack-ups, material selection, and design verification. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, sourcing, quality) to bring products from concept to production. · Participate in testing, validation, and golden sample approvals. Required Qualifications · Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. · 2–4 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in automotive/UTV, consumer products, or related industries. · Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings). · Experience with GD&T and revision control. · Creative thinker who enjoys problem-solving and building. · Must like to get hands-on, get dirty, and enjoy the process of developing parts. Preferred Qualifications · Experience with plastic injection molding, die casting, or sheet metal design. · Hands-on prototyping or fabrication experience (3D printing, machining, manual builds). · Familiarity with PDM systems (SolidWorks PDM or equivalent). · Interest in UTVs, powersports, or automotive applications. Mechanical Engineer

About us Thomas Precision has been a leading manufacturer of parts and service to the food processing industry since 1981. Located in scenic NW Wisconsin, we take pride in bringing quality products and service to our customers. We are currently seeking a full time Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. Position Responsibilities • Investigate and evaluate new manufacturing product lines and related processes. • Oversee all stages of new product & process development, including: • New component and machine designs • Manufacturing processes/techniques • Manufacturing cost reduction • Working directly with customers at their facilities to investigate new opportunities and test designs • Provide troubleshooting and technical support to TPM customers, sales department, and manufacturing for existing components and machines. • Develop and implement manufacturing automation projects. • Up to 10% travel required. Qualifications • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to self-direct own work and manage projects to ensure they are technically sound and conform to scope, timeframe, and budget. • Especially valued for this position would be knowledge/experience in: • A production machining environment • Material properties and analysis • Castings, weldments, metal coatings • Use of CAD software • Some electrical, controls, and/or PLC experience a plus. • The ability to work independently and directly with customers on-site and on the road to make engineering design and process decisions. • A strong background of work related to mechanical or manufacturing engineering is preferred. • A 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent is required. • Please note: This is an on-site position.
