We are searching for a highly skilled Senior Electromechanical Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team (Burnsville, MN; Faribault, MN; Houston, TX). In this role, you will lead the design, development, and integration of electromechanical systems for our advanced electrical power solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability, while also contributing to the innovation of renewable and sustainable energy technologies. As part of the engineering team, you will see products from the engineering prototype phase to series production. In this role you will get to: • Lead the design and development of electromechanical systems for electrical power solutions, ensuring seamless integration of electrical, mechanical, and control components. • Conduct system-level design, analysis, and testing to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. • Collaborate with commercial, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs are safe, manufacturable, and meet customer requirements. • Perform testing and validation of systems, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues. • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the engineering team. • Contribute to project execution, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, while ensuring timely delivery of solutions. • Stay current with advancements in electromechanical engineering, renewable energy, and power systems to drive innovation within the company. Job Requirements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. • 5+ years of industrial experience in electromechanical systems design, with a focus on electrical power systems. • Familiarity with ‘systems engineering’ methods. • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, particularly as they relate to power distribution, conversion, quality, and system integration. • Proven experience in testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems. • Familiarity with methods and best practices in systems engineering. • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical power solutions. • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and other relevant software. • Travel: Up to 20% of travel within the USA, as driven by business needs. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS • Experience in a research and new product development environment. • NFPA 70E Certification. • Knowledge of UL standards such as UL1008, UL508A, UL1691, UL489, UL924, UL1741, UL9540, and others. • Understanding code differences from NFPA 70, 101, 99, and others. • Experience with modelling software for mechanical (electrical) design such as SolidWorks (SolidWorks Electrical) and AutoCAD (AutoCAD Electrical). • Experience with ERP, PLM, and Engineering (Product Data Management) Vault software. • Experience working with vendors, suppliers, consultants, and contract manufacturers. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ability to manage uncertainty and competing priorities in a fast-paced technology development environment; solid technical knowledge and understanding of product/process design. • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Experience with renewable energy systems, such as solar or wind power, is a plus. • Knowledge of microgrids, energy storage systems, and power conversion technologies is highly desirable.
