SUMMARY As an Electrical Engineer at Oshkosh Corporation you will have the opportunity to provide electrical design and integration support for vehicle control and power distribution systems. You'll be creating schematics, one-line diagrams, logic diagrams and supporting project builds. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Support the team, suppliers and other departments to execute requirements, such as meeting specifications and performing calculations, analysis, and material and component selection. • Responsible for quality conscious design including cost, weight, reliability, and ease of manufacturing. • Provide production support. • Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production build. • Process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, and the creation of thorough part print documentation. • Utilize a continuous improvement mindset. • Use reasonable foresight to identify vehicle operation and maintenance risks and control them within acceptable levels. • Trouble shoot electrical vehicle systems. • Direct support of suppliers and test programs to include travel to off-site locations as necessary to accomplish assigned engineering programs. • Potential travel 10% of time. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering • Internship experience or 6-plus months related experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Ability to read, comprehend, and develop electrical schematics • Ability to attain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to accomplish assigned projects • Good oral and written communication skills • Experience with automotive or heavy-duty equipment • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • CREO Electrical 3D Routing Experience • CREO Schematics • E3 Schematics Pay Range: $63,500.00 - $101,700.00 The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Conduct a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on systems, sub-assemblies, and parts to ensure functionality or diagnose issues. • Perform service tasks at various off-site locations as directed by management. • Read and interpret work orders, test manuals, specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedures and equipment to be used. • Prepare reports including daily findings, analysis, and solutions; complete travel, time sheets, and expense reports efficiently. • Troubleshoot issues using instrumentation, documentation, and knowledge to identify and correct problems. • Connect units to test equipment, such as motor generators, multimeters, or current injectors, and monitor performance. • Analyze test results to determine causes of failure and implement solutions, including replacing defective wiring and components. • Collaborate with engineering technicians, production staff, and others to resolve testing issues. • Assist with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures. • Travel to customer sites for startups, troubleshooting, or training on switchgear operations and equipment.
