2nd Shift Electrical Assembler

Position Summary: The 2nd Shift Electrical Assembler for Arrowhead Conveyor is responsible to assemble, check quality, and support testing of assembled equipment, dis-assemble and prepare equipment for shipping. They will also support tasks within the department to ensure projects meet set target dates. Major Responsibilities: • Install wire way and cable tray and wiring both power and control circuits of the equipment. • Assembly of control panels, control cabinets, and push button console. • Perform multi-phase circuit wiring, conduit wire way installation and control circuit wiring. • Understanding electrical schematics, machine drawings, assemblies, and related bills of materials includes tasks such as: match-marking the bulk container handling equipment for installation; attaching brackets and devices to the equipment; installing wireway and cable tray, and, wiring both power and control circuits of the equipment. • General wiring skills for performing the following skills are necessary: Control panel assembly * Control cabinet assembly Pushbutton console assembly * Multi-phase circuit wiring PLC knowledge Conduit & wireway install Control circuit wiring • The results of these tasks must represent quality workmanship, compliance with customer and Busse, Inc. specifications, and must comply with any applicable codes (NEC, CSA, UL.). Specific tasks involved in specification compliance include correct conduit fills, proper wire sizing, and utilization of standard or non-standard parts to meet customer needs. • Using hand tools and power tools, as necessary. • Maintain clean and safe work area. • Maintain accuracy on documentation including labor reporting, material issue and returns, material moves, and material scrap reports • An understanding and proficient use of skills necessary to work from and solve problems using Busse, Inc. machine drawings, machine assembly drawings, controls schematics, and relevant bills of materials. Required Education / Experience / Skills: • Direction: receive guidance with respect to general objectives. In the majority of tasks and projects assigned, determine methods, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments. Operate within specific policy guidelines. • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Or one to three months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. • Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • PLC knowledge Travel: No overnight travel required. The Journeyman Electrician contributes to the overall success of CR Meyer and its heavy-industrial customers through the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical systems in various industrial settings including, but not limited to pulp/paper, plastic converting/extrusion, power generation, mining and other manufacturing facilities. Responsible for providing an excellent degree of workmanship while simultaneously prioritizing the safety of oneself and others and aligning work to CR Meyer values. • Assists with the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements. • Prepares conduit for installation using manual, mechanical and hydraulic bending systems. • Works independently and/or as a team to perform wire and cable pulls. • Properly runs, strips, splices, tapes, caps, connects, grounds all electrical wiring per NEC requirements. • Installs electrical systems in a manner that minimizes waste and avoids unsightly/disorganized systems. • Uses electrical test instruments such as multimeter, oscilloscope, etc. to troubleshoot/repair equipment. • Stages materials, supplies, tools, equipment as needed and maintains a neat, safe work area at all times. • Reads, interprets and ensures that work is compliant with approved construction drawings, documents and machinery manufacturers specifications. Asks questions when unsure of requirements prior to commencing work. • Completes all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner including, but not limited to: timekeeping, production tracking, employment paperwork, etc. • Works cooperatively with other trades and conducts self in a professional manner with customers, subcontractors, coworkers and all other parties. • Leads by personal example and is a strong advocate for the CR Meyer Mission-Vision-Values and Code of Conduct. • Safely operates hand and power tools including pliers, hammer, fishing tape, connectors, lugs, knife/stripping tools, hand/power benders, testers, meters, etc. • Works safely around tools in operation, moving machinery, heavy equipment, open areas, leading edges, etc. • Conducts regular safety checks of tools before using them. Tags out and reports tools that need attention. • Participates in all assigned CR Meyer safety training courses in a positive, proactive manner. • Complies with all CR Meyer and owner safety guidelines. Positively promotes safety to others. Reports concerns to Safety Coordinator and/or supervisor. Has the authority to stop work in cases of imminent danger. • Maintains up-to-date training, knowledge of and compliance with all related safety subjects, including but not limited to: NFPA 70E Awareness, PPE, power tool safety, HazCom, lock-out/tag-out, confined space, fall protection, powered industrial vehicles, jobsite housekeeping standards, etc. • Treats all CR Meyer tools, materials, equipment, with respect. Takes steps to control damage and loss. • Proactively maintains certifications and training requirements in relation to Electrician trade, with an emphasis on new developments in the field and technology. • Maintains personal transcript of training and provides updates to the company as needed. • Wears all assigned PPE and observes CR Meyer safety guidelines at all times. • Due to project deadlines and demands, regular and reliable attendance is required. • Represents the CR Meyer brand in a positive, professional manner at all times. • All other duties as assigned. • Holds a current state-issued Electrician Journeyman’s license. • Ability to complete all CR Meyer training and perform job duties within safety guidelines including, but not limited to, First/Aid-CPR Certification, OSHA 30 and SafeStart and other job/trade-specific requirements. • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program. • Basic computer skills preferred and the ability to learn CR Meyer software and systems. • Employees who operate a company vehicle must have a valid driver’s license, insurable driving history and ability to operate a motor vehicle following all traffic laws, CR Meyer required training and demonstrate safe, courteous driving habits. • Primary work hours are weekdays, however, overtime, weekend and on-call/emergency work will be required in relation to project completion deadlines. • Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States required. • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States, without employer sponsorship.
