Job Summary: Serves as a technical leader on daily tasks, coordinates the scheduling of work assignments and daily priorities of assigned staff. Maintains all electrical distribution systems to provide efficient operation. Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Coordinates work schedules and assignments for assigned group. Evaluates requests for time off and schedule changes and approves or declines following policy. Works with department leadership to ensure staffing levels are adequate to meet needs. Coordinates changes to schedules due to sick calls, leave of absence or other emergent changes in staff availability or work volume. Communicates these changes to appropriate individuals in a timely and respectful manner. Advises supervisor of any potential policy violations related to attendance or schedules. • Provides direction and education to staff. Provides guidance on non-routine and/or escalated issues. Makes recommendations for new or improved processes. Orients new staff to policies and procedures. Identifies the need for re-instruction and/or training on new processes, procedures or equipment. Provides ongoing education to staff. Assist the supervisor with onboarding of new staff, ensuring mandatory competency education is being completed, developing and presenting training and providing input to performance evaluations. • Maintain and repair all aspects of the electrical systems throughout the hospital. This includes, but is not limited to, medium voltage (4160V) through low voltage (120/208V) distribution systems, switchgear, transformers and automatic transfer switches • Maintains emergency generation systems including diesel generators, paralleling and medium voltage switchgear. • Troubleshoots and repair motor starters, relays, variable frequency drives, HVAC and boiler controls, thermostats, and other electronic and pneumatic controls • Works with contractors, sales persons and factory representatives in regards to repair and replacement of equipment. • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. • Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience EXPERIENCE • Two years' experience required in Missouri and Illinois • Five years' of experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring in Wisconsin PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Constant standing and walking. • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. • Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry. • Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more). • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. • Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. • Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors. • Rare use of smell to detect/recognize odors. • Rare driving. Job Title: Maintenance/Electrical Technician Department: Maintenance Position Overview: A Maintenance Technician plus Electrician, performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment. Their duties include electrical work, fixing machinery, plumbing, heating, wiring and inspecting buildings to conform to safety standards. The maintenance/electrical technician will be responsible for conducting preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment and troubleshooting circuit problems while applying theory and related knowledge to install, rebuild or repair electrical equipment as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, transmission systems, and production related equipment. • Troubleshoot electrical circuits up to and including 480-volt three phases. • Troubleshoot PLC's • Repair and/or replace electrical components. • Make recommendations for the replacement or modification of electrical equipment. • Perform preventive maintenance on industrial machines and equipment. • Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns. • Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools. • Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades. • Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks. • Preparing and submitting maintenance reports. • Complete the required service records; and will be responsible for recommending equipment modifications and/or replacement of electrical components. • Installing new production equipment. • Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area. • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures. • Complete all assigned training, including monthly health and safety sessions. • Welding. • Follow all PPE. • Work from ladders and lifts. • Able to complete forklift and scissor lift training and operate both. • Other duties as assigned Department Duties and responsibilities: • Work in various temperature environments. • Work in a dusty environment. • Read SDS's to familiarize yourself with chemicals used. • Authorize to take equipment out of service for safety reasons. • Request the initiation of an internal corrective action. • Have 24-hour plant access and be available for after-hour call-ins. • Work overtime as required. Preferred qualifications: • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • High School or GED • Minimum 5 years mechanical in industrial environment • Good analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to perform basic math functions with accuracy. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Multi-Tasking skills • Knowledge and use of machine tools such as Mills, Lathes and Drill Press. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems • Ability to communicate in English- verbal and written. Required Qualifications: • Associates Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Engineering Technology • 2+ years of engineering experience working with electronics and electromechanical systems • Familiarity with 12-60V DC electrical systems • Strong oral and written communication skills • Excellent problem definition and solving techniques • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work among cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications: • An understanding of BDC and BLDC testing standards and methodologies • Familiarity with industry standards for electric motor design and manufacturing, especially automotive • An understanding of power electronics, motor control, permanent magnets • Experience with CAN tools such as MotoTune, CANalyzer or P-CAN • Working knowledge of circuit design • EMC knowledge and/or testing The anticipated pay range for this position is $46,000-$72,200 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
