Electrician

The City of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is seeking an Electrician. The purpose of this position is to perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, and to perform related work as required. The successful candidate will possess thorough knowledge of electrical methods, practices, and principles in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment; laws, rules and regulations pertaining to electrical codes and their application; occupational hazards and safe work practices. Abilities required include: install, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment; understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions; and establish and maintain effective public and working relationships; read plans, specifications, rough sketches and layouts. Duties include: Installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems in municipal facilities; install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic equipment, worn and obsolete equipment; installation, maintenance of electronic traffic controls, street light systems, traffic control systems; installation, maintenance and repair of emergency systems in municipal buildings; maintenance or records preparation; locating of underground city-owned electrical systems; maintain clerical, activity, financial, and other records as required. HOURS: Normally scheduled hours include Monday – Friday from 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. as well as being frequently available for emergency response during off-shift hours as well as participating in the on-call rotation. REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from high school and four or more years of experience in electrical construction and maintenance work. Special requirements include possession of a Journeyman Electrician license issued by the State of Wisconsin and a valid Wisconsin Commercial "Class B" Driver's License without air brakes restriction. Electrician Inside Crew Leader

The City of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is seeking an Electrician Inside Crew Leader. The purpose of this position is to be responsible for a crew, specialize in installing, maintaining and repairing the City of Fond du Lac electrical systems within the buildings and structures. This individual is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of electrical wiring, fixtures and equipment and to perform related work as required. This position also helps to establish training programs for personnel concerning safety in general and safety procedures that relate to specific jobs or functions. Electrical Wiring Technician

Position Summary Summary: • This position is responsible for wiring machine tools to meet all designed criteria, customer expectation and to uphold our high standard of product quality. Scope and Responsibilities: Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: • Perform a somewhat diverse range of operations to install a variety of electrical components and purchased accessories to our machine tool products. Electrical components included are, but not limited to: pendants, conduits, fittings, switches, motors, temporary power connections for testing motors, controls, transformers, generators, lighting, and power circuits • Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical prints, assembly work instructions and vendor documentation to ensure proper electrical installation of components and purchased accessories. • Perform minor electrical tests using a volt-ohm-ampere meter, or other equipment as may be necessary to check voltage, line continuity, or other minor electrical tests. Occasionally perform other electrical tests as directed by supervision. • Work with the wiring group to establish the best wiring practices to be documented in standard work instructions. • Comply with standard safety precautions and electrical codes. • Ability to meet product standard hours • Comply with business arc flash policies including proper use of PPE. • Document wiring issues/corrections in a manner that follows company practices to ensure equipment quality. • Detect and report unusual conditions, code violations, or faulty material to proper supervision. • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner. • Perform other related duties as assigned or directed to include but not limited to: wire room inventory management and assisting facility maintenance in replacement of fuses, bulbs, cables, wire ETC. • Proper use of electrical hand tools including but not limited to crimpers, wire strippers, heat guns, etc… • Perform other duties as assigned by Lead, Supervisor or Manager Education and/or Experience: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 - 4 years related experience and/or training.
