Position Overview As a member of the Controls, Automation, and Electrical (CAE) team, the technician supports both Maintenance and Operations across shifts. Under the guidance of the Lead Controls Engineer, this role is also responsible for assisting in the development, design, implementation, and validation of projects and system modifications involving electrical, electronic, and programming components. Key Responsibilities • Perform routine and emergency diagnostic checks on automated systems, isolating and repairing mechanical, electrical, and computer-related issues. • Troubleshoot, service, and repair robotic assembly devices, computerized building systems, and other automation equipment. • Manufacture, document, and test control systems and process controls. • Install, test, and calibrate level, temperature, and flow controls. • Troubleshoot electrical systems, including PLC programs, motor VFDs, and other electronic equipment. • Troubleshoot, modify, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), including platforms such as Allen Bradley PLC 5, SLC 500, CompactLogix, CLX 5500, Historian, and PanelView. • Provide on-shift support for program logic and automation troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. • Apply knowledge of electrical power profiles to diagnose and resolve issues effectively. • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, modifications, and system configurations. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance activities with production needs. RequirementsMinimum Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED. • At least 2 years of experience in: • Electrical instrumentation and calibration. • PLC programming and troubleshooting. • Reading/writing electrical and PLC documentation. • Safe electrical and mechanical practices. • Computer applications for Word, spreadsheets, and data/charting. • Training in electrical, electronics, and programmable logic controllers. • Experience with variable frequency drives and motion control systems. • Troubleshooting of analog and digital circuitry. Preferred Qualifications • Certifications in Electronics, Industrial Power, Robotics, or Automation. • In-depth technical knowledge of food process and packaging systems (including Tetra Pak and Stork aseptic filling equipment). • Experience in aseptic processing and packaging systems. • Proficiency with Beckhoff PLCs, Fanuc robotics, and vision inspection systems (Cognex, Keyence). • AutoCAD software experience for system design and documentation. • Knowledge of FDA rules, regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
