Job Qualifications : Education For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required : Technical school degree or equivalent. Preferred / Optional : None Experience Minimum Required : Four years' experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Technician to join our Marshfield Compressor Station who is proficient in troubleshooting maintaining and operating natural gas measurement equipment compressor station control systems and other related facilities. This individual must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision who possesses excellent problem solving communication and decision-making skills. What youll do • Install commission test repair and maintain compressor station meter station communication systems. and other facilities related to the pipeline system • Oversee direct and perform tasks related to the installation start up and repair of measurement and regulation equipment such as: various types of meters recording gauges flow computers LCEM units transmitters relief valves regulators valve actuators pneumatic and digital controllers filtration devices odorizers and gas quality devices (chromatographs and gas samplers) • Perform routine and major maintenance on natural gas driven compressor units and associated auxiliary equipment • Troubleshoot operate maintain calibrate and repair various types of electronic electric pneumatic and hydraulic equipment • Maintain power process controls programmable logic controllers (PLC) electric generation equipment microwave multiplex equipment and orifice meters • Assemble install test and maintain instrumentation electrical or electronic wiring equipment apparatuses and fixtures using hand and power tools • Diagnose malfunctioning systems equipment and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and correct the problem • Connect wires to circuit breakers transformers or other components • Inspect electrical systems equipment and components to identify hazards defects and the need for adjustments or repair ensuring compliance with codes • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters voltmeters frequency generators and oscilloscopes • Receive and maintain equipment documentation (blueprints schematics line diagrams technical manuals operation manuals) and serve as the facility technical resource in their review and use • Perform diagnostic tests accuracy tests calibrations and replacements of various measurement and regulation equipment • Compile prepare and maintain written records related to DOT auditable inspections accuracy tests calibrations odorant tests equipment change outs relief valve tests and gas quality analysis such as dewpoint levels specific gravity and gas samples • Work closely with field personnel to schedule and properly route gas in the event of pipeline right of way maintenance or an emergency repair to maintain delivery to internal and external customers • Locate pipelines per One Call and perform valve maintenance • Perform and witness hydrostatic tests that assure material integrity for operation and installation of facilities • Complete work orders enter data into job plans create new work orders etc. in SAP • Other tasks as required Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent • Previous experience in a related industry • Thorough understanding of stop work authority (SWA) and safe work practices • Knowledge and understanding of lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures • Basic knowledge of engine mechanics • Experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook Word Excel and related software Preferred Qualifications • Associates degree to include courses in engine maintenance or electricity/electronics • Experience with Allen Bradley and/or Bristol controls • Experience with various types of gas measurement testing equipment • Thorough understanding of the test equipment used to maintain control systems • Experience with PLCs pneumatic and electronic valves transmitters switches and • Regulators • Ability to interpret technical reference documents This position requires candidate to: • Have and maintain a valid drivers license and a safe driving record • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing • Be subject to call out 24 hours a day 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposes • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home • Be subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures and cramped conditions About our business TC Energy is a leading energy infrastructure company in North America.
