Electrical Maintenance Associate

We are hiring an Electrical Maintenance Associate. This position is responsible for leading the electrical activities in the Maintenance Department. This position applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry. This is a 1st shift position, 6am - 2pm, Monday - Friday. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Identify and perform advanced electrical repairs to all plant equipment • Properly de-energize and re-energize circuits through familiarity with plant electrical distribution system, (LOTO trained) • NFPA 70E trained along with previous Arc Flash training • Basic understanding of plant fire alarm system • Repair of general lighting systems • Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electromechanical equipment or electronic wiring • Dismantles and installs electrical equipment such as brushes, gears, and armatures • Ability to read electrical schematics • Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position to complete circuits according to diagram specifications • Requisitions new electrical supplies and equipment • Uses hand tools and testing instruments to diagnose malfunctioning systems • Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems • Replacement of fuses, circuit breakers, thermal overload • Replacement of and troubleshooting of DC and AC motors and drive systems • Replacement and adjustment of limit switches, photo eyes, light curtain • Repair and troubleshoot electrical systems • Size and install all types of electrical conduit / power distribution raceways • Perform machine modifications and additions • Update electrical prints • Understands and troubleshoots VFD’s • Understands and troubleshoots safety circuits • Understands Allen Bradley controls platforms • Able to update/change programs within the PLC of the equipment • Able to build and test electrical enclosures to print • Provides leadership, coaching and technical expertise to maintenance team for electrical activities • Responsible for a clean and orderly work area always according to 5S • May be expected to perform mechanical maintenance in support of the maintenance team • Maintain good communication with Maintenance Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Machine Operators and team.
