Class Design Services- Electrical Engineer I

Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a Class Design Services- Electrical Engineer I at our Marinette, Wisconsin location. POSITION SUMMARY The Class Design Services (CDS) Electrical Engineer 1 will support multiple cross-functional teams evaluating, researching and generating Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and holistically evaluate changes under consideration to determine impacts to performance, cost and schedule. Must be capable of compiling, evaluating, consolidating and interpreting technical information to producing concise, comprehensive outputs including written documents and presentations. This position will support the Class Design Services Technical Program Director within the FFG PMO organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Lead and oversee the design and drawing review process for electrical system projects. • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company guidelines in the design and implementation of electrical systems. • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into ship designs. • Conduct technical evaluations and provide recommendations for system improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements. • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation related to electrical systems. • Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in electrical engineering and shipbuilding industries. • Support the PMO Change team evaluating and generating ECP packages, including completion of DD-1692s (ECPs) and DD-1695s (Notices of Revision). • Work with cross-functional teams to evaluate and capture impacts to manufacturing and schedules, including all supporting documentation (artifacts). • Support creation of outsourcing plans by contributing to statements of work and technical evaluations of vendor proposals. • Identify impacts and necessary adjustments to the Integrated Master Schedule, including In-Yard Needs Dates. • Assist with preparation of reports, charts and graphs and routine progress update briefs. • Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
