Journeyman Electrician - Grand Rapids, MI • $30-$35 per hour • Company Vehicle • Employee Owned Company Job Description Seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to add to our team. This electrician will be responsible for running projects, leading a crew of apprentices, and assisting with new construction residential and commercial projects throughout Grand Rapids and the surrounding areas. They will be working with low to medium voltages change-outs and installations, as well as working with single to three-phase electrical systems. Must be comfortable communicating with customers. Responsibilities • Run and lead apprentice electricians on projects. • Construct and service residential, multi-family, and commercial projects. • Perform low to medium voltage change-outs and installations. • Work with single to three-phase electrical systems. • Communicate effectively with customers on project details and services. • Drive to the office to collect van, tools, and materials for scheduled jobs. Essential Skills & Qualifications • Journeyman Electrician with a State of Michigan license and reliable transportation. • OSHA 10 Certification. • 4+ years of commercial electrical experience. • Clean driving record. • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate with customers. • Ability to install, build out, and diagnose issues (troubleshooting). • Understanding of residential code and experience with upgrades or additions. • Experience with adding circuits, grounding circuits, 3-phase to single-phase systems, and 120v to 480v configurations. • Basic knowledge of conduit bending from 1/4 to 1 inch, PVC, and underground electrical systems Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment includes residential, multi-family, and commercial new construction projects. The role may require working independently or in groups depending on the project size, in both outdoor and indoor environments, and training apprentices. The shift is 1st (7:30 am - 5 pm). Expect 40-50 hours of work per week. PPE such as vest, hard hat, ear protection, glasses, and gloves are provided, while candidates provide their own boots (steel-toed boots not required).
