Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Industrial Electrician to support electrical maintenance and repair operations in our grey iron casting manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing electrical systems and equipment to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency in a demanding foundry environment. What You'll Do: • Perform routine and emergency electrical maintenance on foundry equipment, including but not limited to, molding machines, conveyors, dust collection systems, and shot blast machines. • Diagnose and repair electrical issues involving motors (AC/DC), variable frequency drives (VFDs), control circuits, sensors, relays, and power distribution panels. • Install and wire new electrical systems or upgrades on production machinery, adhering to NEC codes and plant standards. • Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic diagrams. • Perform troubleshooting and limited programming support on PLC-controlled equipment (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Modicon). • Conduct infrared thermography scans on electrical panels, motor connections, and switchgear to proactively identify hotspots or equipment at risk of failure. • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement equipment upgrades or efficiency improvements. • Execute preventive maintenance tasks and inspections on critical systems including lighting, MCCs, and electrical panels. • Document completed work in our maintenance Fiix system with accuracy and detail. • Support plant-wide energy efficiency and safety initiatives through continuous improvement projects. • Ensure all work complies with plant safety procedures, OSHA standards, and NFPA 70E requirements. • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for electrical downtime events or safety incidents. • Assist mechanical maintenance technicians with small repairs as needed Safety and Quality Expectations • Consistently use required PPE including eye protection, hearing protection, steel-toe boots and a dust mask / PPAR in areas where required. • Adhere to all safety policies. • Report any quality concerns immediately to department leadership. • Maintain clean work environment in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards. About this Role – Substation Estimator We are looking for a talented Substation Estimator that has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for independently developing cost estimates and resource requirements with a primary focus on utility Substation capital and maintenance construction projects across the country. What You’ll Do • Review plans, specifications, and drawings to perform substation material take-offs and analyze costs to develop construction cost estimate. • Assist with the assembly of the project proposal to include supporting documents, bid forms, project schedules and review of the final proposal before submittal. • Assist project team in scoping of projects for engineering, construction, and contractual requirements. • Prepare indicative project estimates based on limited information and general scopes of work, often lacking specific precedence. • Develop detailed post-approval project estimates based on company standards and site-specific facility drawings. • Develop project schedule and analyze time, equipment, tooling, material, and manpower requirements for each project. • Schedule and hold comprehensive bid reviews with upper management, project managers and field personal to cover scope, review costs, subcontractors, and risk. • Provide expert judgment of costs to support competitive bid and negotiated contracts, assist with technical requirements in contract negotiations as needed. • Assist with the development of standardized historical cost databases and application tools to aid future estimates. • Provide pre-construction support and technical expertise to project management team as projects are awarded. • Review scope, specifications, and drawings to determine subcontractors required. Develop request for quote documents and evaluate subcontractor quotes for scope gap and possible follow up requests. • Interface with customers, vendors, and subcontractors to determine the cost of the project. • Visit customer field locations as required to assess site requirements and project conditions. • Attend pre and post bid meetings as required and be able to effectively present information to clients to sell our projects. • Analyze special safety and code requirements on all projects. • Work as part of an integrated Operations and Estimating team in acquiring projects. • Properly turn over bid documents to Operations in a timely manner.
