Mechanical Engineering Co-op

Accountabilities: • Assist the Mechanical and Hydraulic engineering departments • Introduced to engineering standards & practices and learn about the hydro turbine components designed and manufactured at American Hydro • Trained in our current CAD software and will create drawings as directed • Additional advanced software training may be provided to experienced trainees to include structural finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics • Willingness and capacity to learn and adapt • Accuracy in drawings and calculations • Speed of correct completion of tasks assigned Main Responsibilities • Commit to work under company’s core values that include: a “One Team” mindset, open communication, continuous improvement, and a commitment to provide solutions to our customers • Practice Mechanical Engineering skills as needed to assist in project design development. Must recognize limitation gaps in education/experience and consult freely with appropriate supervisor to efficiently complete assigned tasks while learning the job function • Perform data reduction and prepare tabular/graphical presentations • Become proficient in use of company design/analysis software and interpretation of the results • Exercise communication skills in report writing and proposal development • Assist in assembly of company’s technical documents (example: Operations & Maintenance manuals, proposals, model test reports, engineering reports, etc.) • Assist field engineers/shop personnel to collect machine data, complete check sheets, perform hardware inspections, index testing, etc. Education Requirements: Current Bachelor's degree student in Mechanical, Civil, or other related engineering classification. Junior year student preferred with a 3.0 cum GPA. Mechanical Supervisor

Mechanical Supervisor Job Overview We are a growing manufacturer of plastic sheets produced on extrusion lines, and we are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Mechanical Supervisor to lead the mechanical maintenance team at our production facility in York, Pennsylvania. This role requires hands-on expertise, strong leadership, and experience with a variety of industrial systems. Candidates living nearby will be prioritized due to the importance of fast on-site response. Responsibilities • Supervise and coordinate maintenance and repairs on plastic sheet extrusion lines and auxiliary systems. • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical technicians, ensuring safe and efficient operations. • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical systems, including: -Cooling systems such as chillers and thermoregulators -Air compressor systems (including dryers, filters, and distribution) -Motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and other mechanical components • Execute and oversee preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards (OSHA) and company procedures. • Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to maintain smooth operations. • Assist with installations, equipment upgrades, and commissioning of new lines. • Maintain accurate documentation, work orders, and spare parts inventory. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or vocational training in mechanical systems preferred. • Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. • Experience with plastic sheet extrusion is highly preferred. • Proven supervisory or team leadership experience. • Strong working knowledge of: -Cooling systems (industrial chillers, thermoregulation units) -Compressed air systems (compressors, dryers, filtration) -Mechanical assemblies in continuous process machinery • Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals. • Excellent troubleshooting and organizational skills. • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance situations. • Must reside within a commutable distance to York, PA.
