ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: The purpose of this position is to install, maintain, and repair automated machinery and computer-controlled mechanical systems within our company. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs electronic equipment to component levels by company regulations. • Analyzes data to assess the performance of machinery to ensure efficiency. • Troubleshoots and repairs PLC equipment. • Documents maintenance and machine safety data. • Reads blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a machine or a piece of equipment. • Responsible for following all safety procedures as required by the role and nurturing a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements. • Performs regular and preventative maintenance on installed electro-mechanical equipment. • Use instruments to test the performance of electromechanical assemblies. • Follows specific layout and schematic diagrams to repair and maintain machines. • Performs other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL/SKILLS NEEDED: • Demonstrated strong electrical comprehension/aptitude of 3-phase motor controls. • Able to troubleshoot at a high level with little to no assistance. • Able to interpret electrical schematics and diagrams. • Able to troubleshoot motor VFDs and program/adjust as production needs arise. • Able to troubleshoot machines controlled by PLCs. • Able to troubleshoot control sensors including but not limited to proximity switches, infrared eyes, transducers, thermal probes, and limit switches. • Must be able to communicate and work effectively within the maintenance team and with internal customers. • A willingness to work alongside mechanics should the need arise. • Must have good problem-solving skills. • Able to give, receive, and analyze information. • English comprehension including speaking, reading, and writing is required for our business's necessity to ensure a safe and effective work environment. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Able to provide/possess accredited industrial electrical certification or electrical license. • Requires four (4) years of related maintenance experience or an associate degree in electromechanical technology. • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred. • PLC troubleshooting experience preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Will be required to stand for an entire shift. • Requires walking frequently. • May require the employee to infrequently lift and/or carry objects up to fifty (50) pounds. • Requires frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting close to the body. • Requires bending, twisting, stooping, and squatting. • May be required to work at heights while on Boom or Scissor Lift. • Must be able to work in various indoor temperatures including elevated heat and humidity. • Exposure to elevated noise levels that occur below OSHA thresholds. • Infrequent exposure to machine sanitation solutions and detergents. • Requires frequent visual quality control observations which may include turning and bending of the neck and head area. • Exposure to various odors throughout a work shift. • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] • Required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices [GMPs] • Exposure to food allergens such as, but not limited to, milk eggs, tree nuts, wheat, and soybeans will occur.
