Mechanical Field Technician

Upon receipt of an offer of employment, candidates must satisfactorily complete the required drug screen, physical, and background checks Job Responsibilities: • Perform maintenance and repairs on overhead cranes and related equipment at customer facilities. • Diagnose mechanical problems with equipment in heavy industrial manufacturing facilities. • Work as a team with other technicians and project engineers to perform major installations, upgrades, and modifications. • You will be trained to perform documented safety inspections of specific types of equipment in keeping with OSHA guidelines. • Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance in accordance with applicable guidelines, consulting with customers regarding all noted deficiencies and completing all required paperwork. • Responsible for documentation of hours, services performed, writing service acknowledgments, and working with computers. Qualifications: • HS Diploma or GED • At least 2 years in an industrial environment or similar Military Experience. • Skills and experience in welding, electrical and mechanical maintenance. • Experience as an ironworker, millwright or facilities maintenance is preferred. • Team approach to problem solving. • Computer literate; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. • Must have a valid driver’s license. • Ability to interface with internal and external customers. • Travel Required. • Eligible to work various shifts. • Ability to work at customers facilities including the extreme elements indoors and outdoors. • Ability to work from heights. • Work in accordance with OSHA, CMAA, ANSI, ASME, AWS, and other applicable regulations. Mechanical Designer

SSM is currently recruiting for a mid-level Mechanical Designer with at least seven years of experience in the design of HVAC, process piping, and plumbing systems in industrial, commercial, and R&D facilities. Responsibilities include the mechanical design of HVAC and other building systems for higher education, healthcare, data center, and industrial projects. We need a good communicator because you will be involved in several projects at one time, involving several team members. The Mechanical Designer will: • Contribute to a variety of HVAC, plumbing, process piping, and fire protection and data/telecommunication system design projects. • Work with multi-discipline staff in designing and implementing mechanical systems in new or existing buildings. • Directly interface with clients, vendors, contractors, and associates of SSM. • Perform mechanical design calculations and standard computations, such as building heating and cooling. • Follow building design and energy codes and standards. • Survey mechanical systems, equipment, and building conditions. • Specify equipment requirements. • Prepare technical reports and specifications. Qualifications • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field of study. • 7-9 years’ experience in the design of HVAC systems. • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit. • Knowledge/understanding of LEED and Green Building practices is a plus. • Strong written and verbal communication, self-motivation, and leadership skills required. Maintenance Mechanic (Mechanical)- 1st Shift

How You Will Make an Impact The industrial Maintenance Technician (Mechanic) is responsible for ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all production equipment including all fabrication equipment mechanical and hydraulic, conveyor systems, welding machines, e-coating and powder coating systems. The Nuts and Bolts • Responsible for observing and troubleshooting machinery malfunctions • Must be able to install machinery/equipment, assemble and repair wiring, electronic and electrical components, plumbing, piping, hydraulic and pneumatic systems • Responsible for repairing / replacing defective or faulty equipment parts using hand tools and power tools • Provides regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment • Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs if needed – possibly requiring OT or weekend work Required Credentials • Prior experience with machine maintenance in an industrial setting is required • Basic industrial electrical knowledge • Ability to properly use a cutting torch, read and follow prints, and accurately read all types of measuring devices • General knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations in industry • Ability to climb, stand, bend, lift heavy objects in awkward and confined spaces • Ability to work in an industrial setting with exposure to fumes, dust, vibration, noise, heavy machinery, high voltage with the use of appropriate protective / safety equipment.
