Project Engineer

Tatro is a plumbing and mechanical HVAC contractor boasting over 60 years of service. Tatro's main focus is projects in the commercial and industrial sectors, but we continue to provide residential services as well. based out of Southwest Kansas, Tatro is proud to provide mechanical and plumbing services to the rural communities in this area, as well as surrounding states that we regularly complete contracts in. JOB DESCRIPTION: The responsibilities of the Project Engineer will include but not be limited to; Project Coordination, Customer Satisfaction, Account Development and Management, Mentoring team members, and Interfacing with Field Trade Leaders, Field Craftsmen, and Laborers. Your first 18 Months will be spent working hand-in-hand with field crews to develop a well-rounded knowledge of Plumbing, Piping and HVAC Systems to allow you the ability to grow into a well-rounded Project Engineer and Project Manager. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These duties are not listed in any order of priority but will be weighted for performance management purposes. • Monitor compliance with corporate/project safety program requirements. Document and ensure any required corrective measures are addressed and implemented • Promote safety as the core value at TATRO • Customer satisfaction and public relations liaison • Work within perimeters of the project budget • Ensure quality craftsmanship of all mechanical installations • Comply with company policy and procedure standards • Develop ‘Master Plan’ approach for project • Execute, supervise and maintain CPMI • Schedule all daily and weekly scope of work activities • Requisition, maintain and account for tools, materials and equipment • Code compliance • Conflict resolution • Monitor progress, performance and quality of work for all Subcontractors and major Equipment Suppliers • Coordinate all required jurisdictional inspections, and maintain good working relationships with inspectors • Reviews, analyzes, and updates Labor Hours/Job Costs Report information with management on weekly basis. • Optimize project opportunity by field/pre-fabrication planning, CAD, organizing and scheduling, without compromising the quality, safety or completion date of the project • Assist management with schedule preparation, including logic and resource/budget allocation, Labor Resource Charts and provide updates as required • Keep proper and complete documentation of project, in accordance with TATRO standard systems • Provide required training, mentoring, coaching and leadership for field personnel, as well as participate in company provided training • Ensure efficient project closeout, including completion of all punch list work, owner training and instruction, transfer of spare parts, final cleanup, demobilization and project records archiving REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Science, Mechanical Engineering, or similar PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasional lifting up to 50lbs COMPENSATION: $20.00/hr. Time and One-Half, over 40 hrs/wk. Bonuses are given based on individual performance and overall company success. OFFICE EQUIPMENT: TATRO will supply a laptop and/or Ipad Wireless Internet Capable Card and Company Cell Phone with Data Package. UNIFORMS: You will be treated as a field employee, receiving: • 5 Shirts each Spring • 5 Long Sleeve Shirts each Spring • 1 Jacket per year • 6 Pairs of Pants per Year (3 Winter/3 Summer) • Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Hi-Viz vest as needed BENEFITS: TATRO offers a competitive benefit packet that includes health, dental and vision insurance.
