Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, and calibrating industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment. Job Responsibilities: Primary/Essential: • Work with air compressors, chillers, boilers, fire suppression systems, pumps, and cooling towers. • Complete projects outside the boiler room, such as preventative and predictive maintenance techniques and equipment rebuilds/repairs. • Ensure continuous operations of all equipment above. • Perform water quality testing for boiler and infeed water. • Operate and troubleshoot utility, mechanical, and electrical systems with minimal production downtime and callbacks on equipment. • Complete additional boiler-related tasks as assigned including pipe fitting. • Troubleshoot, repair, and make standard adjustments to mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and machinery, including fixed and variable speed power transmission systems. • Move material, equipment, and machinery using standard methods of lifting, rigging, hoisting, blocking, skidding and rolling. • Assemble, fit, and align machinery and equipment using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools. • Complete shop records and use the reporting system following established procedures as required for effective performance of the job or operation of the department. • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics. • Use V.O.M. to troubleshoot electrical / electronic problems. • Have the knowledge to repair and troubleshoot AC/DC Variable Speed Drive Systems. (Up to 100hp, 480v, 3phase). Secondary: • Use proper metal joining techniques, such as arc and acetylene welding, brazing, and soldering as required for installation and repair of equipment. • Perform light metal fabrication, wood construction, painting, and other miscellaneous or general maintenance work as required. • Set up and operate shop equipment, such as hand tools, electric and air powered portable tools, carpentry tools and machine tools including, but not limited to; lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and saws. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Education, Skills & Experience: • 2-year associates degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience • Experience working on Industrial Equipment preferred • Excellent Mechanical Aptitude

Service Tech

Purpose: Performs advanced diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Location Manager, Shop Foreman, Internal D-TAC or senior technicians. Job Responsibilities/Duties • Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions products • Participates in Service Educate Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products • Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment • Maintains clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments • Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties Experience, Skills, and Knowledge: • 1+ years in performing service repairs • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures • Proficient knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. repeatedly on a daily basis and more on occasion • Ability to perform duties in extreme seasonal temperatures • Ability to climb and stand for extended time in a safe manner on big/tall equipment while performing repairs • Ability to go on Service Calls when needed, a valid driver’s license is required • Be available to complete long-term repairs on a customer’s equipment in a timely manner • Forklift certified preferred • Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions • Proficient oral and written skills • Climb up on equipment and in smaller spaces in equipment to make repairs • This is a safety sensitive position
