REYNOLDS AMERICAN has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Specialist in Winston-Salem NC Your key responsibilities will include: • Operates the equipment and is responsible for product quality, output, waste and regulatory compliance. • Makes mechanical repairs and adjustments to the equipment and is responsible for machine health and overall equipment effectiveness. • Diagnose machine problems and perform corrective maintenance, respond to and message displays, and adjust machines accordingly. Create machine repair records in SAP/CMMS. • Performs preventive maintenance on regularly scheduled intervals. • Make standard adjustments, timings, settings, alignments, and replacement of parts. • Install and commission manufacturing and packaging equipment. • Perform all quality checks and tests as described in standard work instructions. • Order and verify materials, verify production specifications, order parts, enter work history, monitor and respond to KPI data prompts, set up machine for various products through direct interaction with advanced Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Parts Ordering System(s) and Document Management System, and other computer applications as appropriate. What are we looking for? • Experience working in a mechanical/electrical mechanical field with Industrial equipment. • Computer Skills (including Microsoft Systems). • WorkKeys – Applied Math (Level 4), Workplace Documents (Level 5) Graphics Literacy (Level 4). • Operate industrial vehicles and powered lifts. • Hold a minimum 2-year degree or certification in industrial systems, mechanical technology, machine operator certification or a related field or military equivalent. • Complete a mechanical reasoning and aptitude testing in lieu of the educational/experience requirement. We are seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Engineer of Record or Owner’s Engineer. HDR is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our national Power Generation team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be joining a highly capable, multi-discipline team that supports power and energy projects primarily within the utility, IPP, industrial, and institutional sectors. Primary duties typically involve leadership of the project mechanical team, coordination with other engineering disciplines, monitoring, and communication of project status, and providing mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects on both a technical and contractual level. Preferred candidates will have significant experience utility-scale power generation systems and equipment, and proven ability to plan, schedule, and lead design projects. Typical deliverables developed by this individual and/or their team include construction drawings, bid specifications, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates. Significant experience with the design and specification of power generation systems for simple cycle, combined cycle, distributed generation, and RICE projects is preferred. Project roles will vary based on the size and type of the project, as well as the capabilities, experience, and preferred focus of the engineer. Project roles will typically consist of lead mechanical engineer and project engineering manager and may include project manager. Most tasks will be done in a collaborative manner involving engineers and designers from several other disciplines. Preferred Qualifications • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university. • Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design. • Gas turbine, steam turbine and/or large reciprocating engine experience or subject matter expertise. • Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation • Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm desired. • Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally in the fossil power industry with a blend of design and owner’s engineer projects. • Have the ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments. • Excellent communication and analytical skills. • Willing to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs. • Proficient at working within an established schedule and budget • Position will include an expectation of less than 10% travel for meetings with clients and vendors as well as project site visits. , Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Engineering • A minimum of 10 years of experience • Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license • Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit) • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture What We Believe HDR is our company.
